There's no controversy. Peters is playing well, Ward isn't. Peters is getting wins, Ward isn't.

Apart from the Cup run, Ward has been a middle-of-the-road at best, injury-prone, and given away more games over the years than he's won by himself. Half those games during the perennial Oct/Nov/Dec race for the cellar they've had to try and claw out of were winnable if not for Ward folding like a cheap tent.
