It took less than a page for Svechammer to start running his mouth about me again, and someone to call someone racist. New record?

If someone repeatedly puts forth antisemitic rhetoric, promotes white supremacy, and their company has been sued multiple times for being “a hotbed of racist behavior”, is it not appropriate to say “I think that person might be racist”?

Seriously? Can we please just go back to shooting the shit on food and whatnot?

I’m actually very jealous of those who can really get into their food. I’m very basic in that regard.

I treat meals as a necessity more than a pleasure. I’m hungry, so I eat to not be hungry for the next 8-10 hours. That’s it. And if it’s cheap to make that meal, even better. A bowl of cereal or a ham sandwich is good enough, as far as I’m concerned.

So seeing others spend hundreds on ingredients or hours in the kitchen to make dinner is just odd to me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure their food is delicious and would definitely knock anything I make out of the park. But if I was asked if I’d rather have a delicious meal that costs hundreds and spends an hour to make or have an OK meal that I can make and finish in 10 minutes? I’m choosing the latter every time.

I was finally able to actually get a VPN to work properly without ads and malware warnings. Such that I could blissfully use the BBC iPlayer and watch the new seasons of some of my favorite programs without the usual 6-12 month wait for them to come across the pond. Just in time for the arrival of the polar vortex!

In these ever increasing uncertain times, sometimes it's the little things.

Speaking of Ramsey. The Casino has one of his restaurants in it. I was planning on trying it out, being from Cleveland I have ate at 3 of Micheal Simon's places and food from that level chef is so damn good.

I looked up the menu for GR's place and 65 dollars for a New York Strip is a big ass hell no!

Not food talk, but I stumbled upon a short comic where Thanos committed the most evil act in Marvel history by helping a little old lady cross the road.

Because he helped her cross the road, a bus was slightly delayed til its next stop. A passenger on that bus was supposed to bump into someone walking on the street as she exited, and the two of them would connect, then work together to solve... pretty much all of the world's problems. World hunger, all diseases cured, no more conflict, a literal utopia. And then they would spread that to the rest of the universe. But because the bus was delayed, they never met, so the passenger just led a mediocre human life.

Then, on her death bed, literal minutes away from dying, Thanos appears in front of her and presents her with the life she was SUPPOSED to have. He shows her all the good she could have done without his interference...and then she dies.

There's also a guy named David, who is just a guy that Thanos picked at random, that Thanos specifically goes out of his way to ruin his birthday every year. Every birthday, Thanos kills his pet, or floods his apartment, or burns down the university he was supposed to attend, etc. And he makes sure David knows he's the cause. And David tries to explain to others that Thanos is ruining his life, and no one believes him (because David is just...a guy)

Seems like the guy that wrote those writes the Jerk Jesus comics.

yeah even seeing the price of the wings and the fish and chips there was a big "nope" even if I wanted to go nuts some evening.

Michelin finally visited Atlanta the last few years so we're working through the Michelin Starred restaurants in the city and using special occasions to do so (birthdays, anniversary, etc.). It's been a lot of fun. One was a top 3 meal of my lifetime, another I wouldn't go back to altogether and I'm shocked they got a star. Fun to do.

I mean I expect to pay a premium to eat at that class of Chef's place. Again I willingly did it for Simon's places in Cleveland, but that Nuckin Futs

The casino will undoubtedly pull in some high rollers, but Danville isn't exactly Atlantic City. It will be interesting to see if there are enough gamblers willing to pay those prices or if the market forces an adjustment.

oh I'm definitely betting they expect to pull in the kind of people with that money coming down from the NoVa area and coming up from the Triangle. And I don't doubt they will, especially the tech types. Not for me though, there's actually places in-town here (or Charlotte when I'm down there for a game) that I'll hit that fit the bill for me when I want to splurge food wise. I don't gamble though so not really my scene to begin with, though I probably would have made some nice money on ASU-Texas yesterday since I thought there's no way UT wins by that much.

Plot Hole: Wouldn't helping her cross the road mean the bus WASN'T delayed because she crossed quicker? Also, my name is Brandon, NOT DAVID...JUST BELIEVE ME ALREADY!!!

I dropped an egg in a pot of a ramen last night and felt like such a fancy high class chef. I may have left the pot on the stove and the bowl in the sink for after work today.
I did the same thing, but it was raw, and fully shelled...and an accident...so I just mashed it up and ate it with the added crunch!

Not my favorite iteration of Thanos at all, tbh. The grandeuse that Jim Starlin wrote him into ill fits to a cosmic-ky re-do of Metropolis 900 mi. where the 80's megacorp CEO Lex Luthor ruined the life of a cafeteria waitress just because he could. There's been better:

Damn if I don't wish that I would have gotten to read chronologically the build-up to the Infinity Gauntlet saga in the turn of the 90's in the Silver Surfer comicbook. It's magnificent how Thanos does a very eco-conscious bleeding heart presentation to the Silver Surfer, true real-world stuff on overpopulation, pollution and whatnot, before letting the Surfer on his master plan to wipe away half the life in universe.

I'm going on a dirty carnivore diet, elimination diet to see what the triggers are for my headaches.
Is this where you replace bbq rubs with dirt before placing in the smoker?

Texture is important. Very high class chefs know this
