From what I see there are only six choices:

  • Pastrnak
  • Nylander
  • Kaprizov
  • Rantanen
  • Kucherov
  • Panarin

These are their ppgs over the past five regular seasons and four post-seasons in the 2020s:

Pastrnak:

Regular season: 1.21ppg Playoffs: 0.89

Nylander:

Regular season: 1.04 Playoffs: 0.97

Kaprizov:
Regular season: 1.21 Playoffs: 0.63

Kucherov:
Regular season: 1.5 Playoffs: 1.26

Rantanen:
Regular season: 1.24 Playoffs: 1.29

Panarin:
Regular season: 1.27 Playoffs: 0.77

Whats your top 5 or just your top 1?

Took Pasta for going into next year and Kaprizov is hitting his stride.

Arguments can be made for Kuch as well so one of those 3 guys.

Rants is a solid 4th then a drop off to the next 2 guys for me.

Of those listed…Kuch…but I’ll say an argument can be made for Kyle Connor
1.05 regular season
1.07 playoffs

Probably the guy who Swayman said has the “most deceiving shot in the NHL by far”

I’d take Reinhart and maybe Stone/Hagel over Breadman at this point. Given age and two-way ability. It’s also easy to slight Marner but…to say “these 6 are a tier above” is a little silly. I think the OP is not counting the elite two-way guys enough. A healthy Matty Tkachuk is in the mix too. I don’t think you can dock Marner for the post-season and then say Panarin is a tier above him (at this point).

I think Kucherov is clearly 1. Pasta is clearly 2. For regular season, I’d go KK clearly 3. But come playoff time, Rantanen lifts his game. I think if you want to tier it, it’s a top tier of 4 and then some debate.

I love Kap and Pasta but its about playoffs performances at the end of the day so there is only Kuch and Rantanen left

Then again, this might sound fun as he won the Ross again but last 3years also Kuch have been very underwhelming in playoffs scoring only a one goal so I think his level has been going downhill. Dont think he is able to carry his team like Rantanen is doing anymore.

So its Mikko Rantanen currently

Ps. Interesting how all of these guys are Europeans
