Probably missed some names as I just threw this together quick so you can play around with the roster, but I think most of those guys are on it, how would they do vs everybody not named Canada/USA?

Canada could definitely put an A and B team in the tournament and with the right chemistry they could win a bronze.

Bedard should be somewhere.

Morgan Reilly and Ekblad? Really? Over guys like Hamilton, Chychurn, Dunn, and Chabot?

Are we really doing this again?

The Canadian A team was pretty much neck-and-neck with the USA and Sweden and not as far ahead of a beat up Finland as you'd think. Their B team would be a clear 5th (or 6th if you have Russia)

It's a good question because the B team lacks the top end talent of non USA/Canada teams, but simultaneously they will always be deeper as a whole. The sort of team that can definitely grind out some 2-1 or 1-0 type victories.

There are big dropoffs for non USA/Canada nations after the first two lines and d pairing, whereas Canada's B team basically runs a perfect all around team from line 1-4, D1-6.

Anyways that's what makes it interesting, there are those like you who will say the top end talent of the other teams will take over and make it a non-game, there are those like me that think the depth would pose an interesting challenge for those teams. If Canada and USA can lose/be given a run for their money from teams with worse top end talent and depth, then I don't see why a team with perfect depth can't give those very same teams a run for their own money.

Canada’s B team would win a 7-game series against everyone except the US, Sweden, Finland, the Czechs and maybe Slovakia, but would likely beat the rest.

In a tournament, Canada’s B team could win the whole thing, because that’s tournament hockey.

That B team listed above could easily beat Team Finland or Sweden. Especially in a one game elimination type tournament.

I mean really look at that roster listed above. It is not a clear 5th or 6th. I'll take Suzuki, Thomas and Duchene up the middle over Aho, Granlund and Lundell or Zibanejad, Pettersson and Eriksson Ek. And if not, it's still very close.

I have Canada B winning many international tournaments, they would instantly become the 2nd best hockey nation in the world behind Canada.
