Wings have 10 returning forwards. Not including Kane, who Yzerman said he would like to bring back.Pretty possible Buchelnikov will come to the team this summer, and he will need a veteran Russian player to help him to get comfortable with NA life and hockey. So what point to get rid of Tarasenko?
Detroit can’t run it back with 10 or 11 of the same forwards from last year. There needs to be more churn then that.
Tough to move certain guys like Compher/Copp because of term length remaining. Some guys they simply wouldn’t want to move. Tarasenko seems logical as it had not been a good fit so far.
