Ok, so thus far we've seen/heard a handful of prospects/preseason games. I'm sure we all have our favorite prospects and are hopeful that a few of them stick with the club on our opening night.

So, how many do you see making the club?

Vote for how many, then list their names in your post.

As good as they've all reportedly been (and I'm thrilled to hear how so many of them have developed--haven't had much time for hockey lately :( ), who would they bump out of the lineup?

I say Andreoff and Toffoli--Vey/Kozun/Shore may get a callup during the season if injuries (Forbort?). Fraser is off to...somewhere.

I voted for 1 prospect, and it's not TT, but rather AA.

To me, replacing Fraser with AA is should be a no-brainer. Yeah, we do lose some experience, but we gain a tougher, better and most importantly a cheaper player (200k less) in AA.

In regards to TT, I just don't see a spot for him just yet. I think most of us figure he would be a shoe-in as our 3RW, but with Sutter's man crush for Lewis, I'm not so sure. Personally, I would put TT as our 1RW and slide Williams down to 3RW and Lewis as our 3LW/4C/4RW but I just don't see Sutter having the same vision.

Since AA got sent down, I'm saying none. It's a shame, I really would have loved to see him make the team. And I don't see Toffoli making the team. Sutter loves Lewis and there is now way he is going to move him down in favor of Toffoli.

Yep. He really needed to have a good camp and he hasn't.

Of all the rookies I'd say Shore and Pearson have shined the most in preseason competition. Sabourin and Andreoff looked good as well but their time isn't now. I think the same goes for Vey.

Goes to show you how strong the team depth is when there are so many talented young players who are scratching the surface to make it to the NHL but there the numbers aren't in their favor. It's similar to what we've seen with for decades with the Red Wings when guys like Nyquist and Tatar and Abdelkader, Emmerton, etc. all take years to make it pro.

Definitely agree on Shore and Pearson. I think Shore has been the best of all the rookies Though. Sabourin has showed all sorts of awesomeness. Will love to watch him all year in Manch. Tough for Andy though. I thought he did enough honestly to supplant Fraser (which isn't a lot because it's Fraser).

Having Pearson-Vey-Toffoli is going to be exciting.

Also, Kozun gets claimed. Watch. I really think he will.

If Kozun does end up getting claimed, he's just going to end up on waivers again in the near future because I simply can't imagine which NHL team out there is going to use him in their lineup.

Agree and I voted none. This team is sort of set bringing back all the free agents even if we lose Penner.

I think TT makes it. He hasn't been that noticeable in camp, but who knows what he is being asked to focus on. I don't think there is much more for him to learn at the AHL level and he's shown he can bring it in the NHL. I feel he would benefit more by being with the team on a daily basis and rotating in and out of the lineup, but who knows how DL and DS see it.

Pearson is right there too, but I think he would benefit with more time in the A. The odds of both of them making it would be extremely slim.

I'm slightly bummed about AA getting sent down. I say TT makes the team, his talent is undeniable and scoring depth is still shaky. He'd help in that respect big time

Pretty bummed that it looks like nobody is going to take Frasers and Kings place.

Also now that Cliche was claimed by Colorado is pretty dissapointing too.

I was hoping AA or Scotty Sabourin would make the team.

Sad day.

Why? They have options and other guys don't. I never expected the Kings to cut Fraser lose for nothing without giving him an opportunity to play his way out of a job in the regular season.

Sending the kids down and making it tough to get a spot on the roster is a good thing.

The answer to the original question may very well be zero, especially since Frattin has joined the club. It's a numbers game for Toffoli, Vey and Pearson right now. Nothing wrong with sending them down and having them tear up the AHL and bring them up as needed as the season rolls along.

Sabourin isn't even Kings property. He's able to sign with any NHL club should they come calling.

well i see what your saying with nothing wrong with it but there also nothing good with it either. To me the kings need to replace king nolan and maybe fraser. We need more offense that they simple won't provide. If you can field a better team with the rookies i say you put the rookies in from the get go. I think we re a better team with toffoli vey and andreoff in and king nolan and fraser out. I just hope we don't lose to many before the changes are made.
