How many point per game seasons does Sid have left in him?

You stated “greatest winner of all time” which implies cups and tournament medals. Not sure what personal accomplishments such as Rosses or Harts have to do with this. Toews isn’t even the greatest winner, that would be Messier or Beliveau, but his trophies are comparable to Crosby.

Stanley cups: 3
Olympic gold medals: 2
IIHF World Junior Championships with Team Canada in 2006 and 2007

Sounds like a similar trophy case to Crosby.

Also, I specifically compared Ovi’s prime(THREE seasons 2008-2010) to Crosby’s, not their entire career. Sid career>Ovi career, Ovi prime & peak> Sid prime & peak. You’re addressing arguments that don’t exist.
The point is that Crosby has been and always will be a better overall player than Ovi even during Ovis prime.

The other point is Crosby was the best player on the ice and the leader for most of his career accomplishments where Toews was mostly a passenger. It’s a horrible comparison.

Really hard to tell, honestly. The guy just isn’t slowing down. Its hard to imagine a world where he doesn’t get a point per game.

Could see him still performing into his 40s

Toews wasn't a passenger at all. He was as important as anyone for the Blackhawks' three Cups, and was a main driver for Team Canada in 2010 and 2014.

Yeah, only one of those things happened.

Sid will be remembered like Jagr is remembered. Ovi will always be the greatest goal scorer of all time.

My kids kids will know the name Ovechkin. They however might think Crosby was part if a 70’s rock band…

My daughter knows who Jean Beliveau is and she's 2.

Of course Crosby will be remembered.

You’re right, it’s not the best use of words but he wasn’t on Sid’s level. I didn’t make the comparison, I think it’s a dumb one to make.

I think it's up to Sid

Pretty much. How long does he want to play? He can do 80+ points until he’s 45 as far as I’m concerned. Will he keep going when the team around him is going nowhere and he’s an old locomotive dragging a roster around? Probably not, but is he capable? Probably. He’s one of the most dedicated players, one of the smartest and one of the most talented. 45 may be an exaggeration but I bet he can do roughly 75-85 until he’s 40-42 fairly confidently.

Crosby/ovechkin are an item. Ying yang you cannot discuss one without the other. Same with lemieux/gretzky. Will be the same with kucherov/mcdavid. Each has their rival

When its all said and done, Ovechkin will be remembered for a long long time. Sid the Kid will be an afterthought.
He will be just as remembered as Sakic, Yzerman, Lafleur, Mikita, Beliveau, Howe etc. Ovechkin will be too. Which means every single hockey fan will know who they are, non hockey fans will not. I don't know what's wrong with the way Jagr is remembered. Very very famous player in hockey circles

Wouldn’t be surprised if he maintains it until he’s 40 or goes under next seasons. Hard to predict the late 30s aging curve. Guys like Kopitar and Sakic have been mentioned, but then there’s guys like Joe Thornton who went from 4th in scoring at 36 to never topping 50 points again. Even Gretzky went from being tied for 3rd in scoring at 37 to 33rd at 38. Sid was also hovering around point per game most of the season until a hot streak after the 4 Nations. With the team not looking like it’s going to get any better, there’s no guarantee he’ll be able to keep it up. But he’s also too smart and too hard a worker to see him not at least be close. And he seems like the type to hang em up if he feels that he can’t at least be close

Sid, force a trade to a contender. PIT fans will forgive you, and might actually thank you, as it will hasten the commitment to a rebuild.

being PPG nowadays basically just means being in the top ~30-35

I see no reason he can't keep doing that indefinitely as long as he doesn't try and play until like his mid 40s or something

#5 player of all time

A debatable title he’ll hold on to for a few years before giving way to McDavid. Ovechkin might hold onto the goals record for as long as Gretzky and Howe did combined.

Disclaimer: I do rank Crosby higher than Ovechkin.
