How many goals for Ovechkin this season?

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Hard to make this take. As a doctor and someone that tore their ACL but had it missed by multiple doctors, if you have enough musculature and it's loaded, you don't always see a full buckle or dislocation even in cases of a partial or full tear. It's obviously good to not see it but there's a reason that an anterior or posterior Drawer test might be negative in an athlete that avtuslly has a torn ACL or PCL.

I'm obviously not weighing in or saying for sure it is or isn't a tear based on the video, but just pointing out you don't always see an obvious buckling in even more severe knee injuries.

Sucks since he's been scoring and on pace to set it this year...

Dr. Recchi, is that you?

I’m joking. Appreciate the insight.

Ah yes. the PCL, anterior and musculature. Was about to post the same thing and I know all those words.

Have you watched them play at all? No, it’s not gibberish. The entire strategy of the team now revolves around getting him points. As the season went on, he got worse and worse. Disregard the numbers and actually watch. He basically stood in his famous spot and did zero effort back checking or even driving the net. He was a black hole at 2 zones of the ice.

You can find clips if you really want to see what I mean. His performance in the playoffs showed he totally ran out of steam. It’s going to be a new season but he’s closing in on 40 with not much foot speed left. Father Time is undefeated. He was held without a point or sometimes even a shot in the playoffs.
Well Ovi proved me wrong. But I stand by the fact that he looked awful last season and especially in the playoffs. He looked totally shot.

Not sure how he did his inhuman comeback but he did. He’s the greatest goal scorer of all time and I’m glad to see him playing like he is. I’ll eat my crow, he bounced back big time this season and he’s almost 40. Unreal.

Don’t you dare say that! He’s just as good as he ever was!

I sure ruffled some feathers from the stat watchers lol… Ovie is washed.

It’s sad but true. Stat watchers and/or those who have never played or coached at a high level will never understand.

Never thought I’d offend so many people when I suggested he is past his prime, about to turn 39 and isn’t the player he once was.

The eye test shows me an old player with still a world class shot, great hands and awareness but one that can’t keep up with the play and cheats offensively / gets sheltered minutes to match towards a record. He’s essentially a PP specialist but getting more minutes to get a milestone. It’s crazy how well Sid has been able to adapt his game as he’s gotten older and slower tbh.

Another year older and he’s looking pretty chunky in the off-season. I hope he does it but I’ll be shocked if he scores 40+ like some of those guys seem to think. It’s time to get real.
You can continue to laugh if you want but literally nobody expected a 39 year old do do this and it’s never been done before. I’ll gladly eat crow for that because it’s awesome to see him making history.

Watching Sid and Ovi from their rookie seasons on was truly special. Really happy for the caps too
