I guarantee there is zero accountability, zero change, and zero progress this offseason and next season. Why would anyone expect better with an ownership who is only in it for the money.

With all due respect, no it wasn't. There was a very clear reason why the Oilers were favorites.

As long as 97 and 29 are on their side and the Kings don't have a true playoff caliber top line or top d-pairing this will continue to be result if these teams play.

I just don't see how they ever beat this team, even this year without their third best player (top d-man), with fringe goaltending and with the Kings solving what I thought was their biggest weakness in previous years (goaltending) they still lost four times in a row with a Vezina finalist in goal.

I was actually a big fan of the NHL switching back to the divisional playoff like they had when I first became a fan of the league, but the last four years have made me hate it with a passion.

I could easily see them beating Vegas, I wouldn't say it's > 50%, but they matchup pretty well with Vegas, since Eichel can't carve up the defensive wall like 97 & 29 always do. Edmonton is just the matchup from hell for the way the Kings are built, but there is no way to avoid seeing them, unless someone else beats them.

Lol saw on Reddit Montreal has won a Western conference playoff series more recently than the Kings have.

There's also only 3 teams in the NHL who haven't won a playoff series since the Kings last won a series. Buffalo, Detroit, and Utah who has been around for 1 season.

Let Yanetti have an honest interview for the GM position, but do not favor him if you think there is a better candidate (and he should be the ONLY internal interview for the job).

I was really rooting for you guys, again, for the 4th straight year.

I’ve never seen a team flip off a switch like that except for Pittsburgh vs Philly 2012. With the Pens it was from the drop of the puck in game 1 they lost composure but for LA it was that stupid ass challenge that signalled to the team the coach was scared. Legitimately the worst playoff coaching I’ve seen since Danny Bylsma. I would be irate.

I think the most glaring issue with Blake is his inability to find a coach. With McClellan, Blake gave him a 1 year extension before the guy proved anything then fired him months later.

Then he hires Hiller with a 3 year contract. It’s probably a pretty common contract but are you telling me Hiller was going to walk on a 1 or 2 year to have an opportunity to be an NHL head coach, something only 32 people get to be.

We can’t change The Kings ineptness but we can change where we spend our money. I live 10 minutes from Honda Center, I can save myself a lot of time and energy by just catching games there to get my hockey fix.

This should be the response to every single person who is still trying to insist, and will insist again next season that this team is somehow a contender, better than Edmonton, and is pretending that this teams roster construction doesn’t have a fatal flaw.

For anyone who insists otherwise. Want to answer how many teams that lack both a legit championship caliber 1C AND 1D have done anything of significance in the playoffs in the last 20 years?

Teams that are constructed like the Kings lose in the first round, period! But it's not surprising people like The Mouth of Robitaille/Hanoi Hoven are crying about it "Not Making any Sense", it makes a ton of sense to anyone who, I don't know, actually follows the rest of the league closely and sees what winning rosters are constructed like in the 2020's.

The cold hard truth, once again is that this teams rebuild never should have ended until they had at least one of those roster components LOCKED IN, and in reality probably both things locked in, like our last successful rebuild had, and every other successful rebuild around the league has had. Locked in, not some BS projection that they might eventually have those components after their beloved "slow-cook" development strategy that nobody else in the league uses was finished. And what do you know, four years after the rebuild ended none of those slow-cooked players have turned into a 1C or 1D before the wheels fell off of the old guys.

Hated that Hiller changed during the playoffs. Instead of playing exactly as they did during the season and 105 points, he panicked and drove the vets until their guns went "click". Brutal. Lots of cuss words followed by "Fck it, lets go bowling"
