Lol get owned. This guy is a sieve PURE AND SIMPLE. What in the world happened that this is the best Canada has to offer at the goaltending position? He is downright atrocious and almost cost Canada the game AGAIN if it wasn't for the Finns playing a game of cross eyed chicken at their blue. Unbelievable. He should be playing for some thirld world country, he has absolutely 0 business starting for TC.
How has Canada allowed its goaltending to go straight down to the dumpster?
The Blues have been ass for the past three seasons. But the team has been unable to get a high draft pick because Binnington has earned them points they didn’t deserve (or need, tbh). Guy is a big game goalie. Many fans are convinced that the Avs 2022 championship never would have happened had Nazem Kadri not run Binnington in game 4 of the second round matchup. Binner was dialed in and on top of his game. What has Binnington done since COVID? He has a career 0.906% saving percentage, and has been sub-par since the COVID season. As a Jets fan, that would be like starting Pavelec (circa 2014)

It’s funny how nobody actually pays attention to what Blues fans have to say about the guy. Does he let in some save-able goals sometimes? Sure does. But would he be trusted to win a do or die, winner take all game? You bet your ass. At times he appears unfocused and can go through spells where his mechanics are “off”…but the guy battles, and makes big saves he has no business making and plays better as the stakes go up.
It’s not always pretty, but he’s a very good goalie. And it’s why the Blues’ and their fans want to give him a playoff caliber team around him, because once he’s in he can steal a playoff round or more.
Congrats to Binner and Team Canada.
And if he lost the game in the 2nd half and was a wall in the first half, you'd only halfway skewer him?...I'll eat crow for his 2nd half of the game tonight...he still gave up two that were stoppable pucks tonight as well...clutch when it counted, but I don't want him in the crease for the Olympics...unfortunately, he probably will be...
Bennett’s goal wasn’t great last night. Super deep in his net. I would take Binner 10 times out of 10 over Hellebuck in a winner take all Game 7 without thinking twice.I don't know but I wasn't terribly impressed with Hellebuyck. That one goal that went right through him I think against Finland was the worst goal I've ever seen.
He's always been an elite puck handler, and I'd wager that was a giant factor in starting him, especially against a Team USA that was going to be heavy and aggressive on the forecheck.Beyond the game-savers at the end, his ability to handle and move the puck was elite tonight too.

You were wrong. He was one of Canada's best players tonight, if not the best, and the only reason you can't admit it is because you have a fragile ego.
