Ok cool, then he's one that doesn't match the answer to the question. I'm trying to help answer a question that I said "I'm not sure how best to search for this" about, not to be told "wouldn't hurt to do some research".

I saw this and was gonna reply ‘I think he’ll be higher than that, maybe Brendan Morrison’. Then I looked at the stat line for both and they’re not as different as I thought. They each topped out at 70 give or take a point and had a few seasons at or above 60.

I’m thinking there’s more Brayden Point here than people realize. Yea, he’s 5’11” and not a perfect candidate by comparison but it’s more the underdog status Point had before becoming a star in the right situation. Kuch and Kap have a lot of similarities and so do Marco and Point.

He's 5'9. You can't project much higher than that. If anything, you need to be realistic about his health past 32-33 given the rigours of the NHL.

PMB was a very talented player who's career was cut short by concussion issues. Still remember when Bfyuglien hit him from behind, driving his face right into the ledge of the rear boards where it met the glass up in WPG. Was never really the same after that.
It's not an insult to Rossi to compare him to PMB, who played in a lower scoring, rougher, era. Just hope that he lasts longer.

He seems to be built sturdier than Pierre-Marc Bouchard was. PMB was pure finesse (how many times did he spin just inside the bline line? I lost count.), where Rossi is a bit of a fire-hydrant grinder with skill. He reminds me more of Parise than he reminds me of PMB, though both and neither are great comparables in my opinion. Rossi has aspects of both players, but is kind of his own unique blend.

I can see him topping out at 70 points, but I can also see him topping out at 80, and I think both of those are reasonable estimates for where he might end up.

On a side note, almost two decades ago I got into an argument on the old Wild forums with @TaLoN about PMB. I said he's going to be a 60 point player, and TaLoN said I was out to lunch and he'd develop into an 80 point player. I was right by happenstance, but I suspect TaLoN might have been right barring injuries. Now I'm on the other side when it comes to arguing for Rossi's point totals. Funny little world.

Granlund didn't really reach those levels of offence until he was moved to wing.

I know Granlund has a couple of 60+ point seasons as a center on other teams, but Rossi is already a better center than Granlund was in Minnesota.

I think PMB was the biggest barrier for PMB. He had the skills to be an 80pt player, but not the will. He limited himself to the perimeter. Perimeter players will never get those kind of point totals.

That's why Granlund became a better player and Rossi will be a better player. The willingness to get to the dirty areas.

I really like Rossi and think he may have a few seasons over 80 pts. I'm just wondering about some recent(ish) examples of other centers his size who've done it already.
