Let’s say they move Dumba’s full cap hit without anything back. They’ll have $9m to fill four bottom six wingers, a top4 dman, and a couple extras. That’s extremely tight….Duchene is not taking that much of a discount. They’ll need to go bargain bin hunting for next year. 26-27 season they’ll be fine with the big cap jump.
Yea they may need to move on from Marchment too unfortunately. We’ll see what happens.

They only really need a bottom pairing rd, with or without Dumba.
Someone to play next to Bichsel
Harley -Heiskanen
Lindell-Lyubushkin
Bichsel-anyone but dumba

Dallas trades Rantanen back to Carolina in the offseason.

“When Brindamour showed up, he said, ‘There’s one team you'll go play for and you're not leaving for 8 years.’”

It would really make sense for Dallas to target Rasmus Andersson in the offseason, getting a top 4 defenseman making less than $5m would exactly what they need... with Bourque being a prime candidate for an offer sheet and the Flames needing a young RHS Center, it really feels like the perfect storm for a deal. I would think Andersson @ 50% retention and Bourque would be fairly close in value.

to Dallas
- Rasmus Andersson (50% retained $2,775,000)
to Calgary
- Mavrik Bourque (RFA)
- Matt Dumba (3,750,000)
- 3rd in 2025 (for taking Dumba)

I’ve always wanted to see what would happen if a GM refused to acknowledge the salary cap and how the league would handle it
Likely all a fine, loss of draft picks and a cancellation of the contract(s) that caused them to exceed the cap.

Resign Benn and Granlund, let go of Dadanov, Ceci. Benn knows better than anyone else that if he wants a cup before he retires he needs to take a heavy discount.
