How do you improve the Wings?

He was NHL ready at the end of 22-23 and got held out most of 23-24 because they didn't expect him to be ready out of camp and oversigned D.

Kasper being sent back down kinda is the example I think it is. He should've made the team out of camp. Just because they quickly recognized their mistake doesn't mean it's not evidence of their mentality.

ASP I'd be surprised. Buch I wouldn't. If he doesn't come until 2026 he's obviously NHL ready. If he has his KHL contract terminated, it won't be to make AHL money.

I think Ed could have held down a role sooner but I also believe he benefited from the extra AHL time.

Kasper functionally made the team out of camp. They had to create some space to get him up. He's an example of this organization giving a kid an opportunity.

What space did they need to create? The 13th man was Watson and there is no logical argument that Motte or Fischer was a better player or more deserving of a roster spot at that point.

They could've easily healthy scratched one of those two and sent Watson down while playing Kasper from Day 1.

Watson started on the roster over Kasper as a healthy scratch when the team was completely healthy. He played 1 game bouncing back and forth. Once there was a need for a full time forward Kasper was called up.

Sometimes the dust needs to settle after training camp before you get the lineup you really wanted.

Honestly Buch is interesting because I'm not sure that he'll want to play in the AHL. So I think there's a really good chance that he starts next year with us.

ASP I would bet spends at least half a season in GR. We held Ed down last year when he was clearly, inarguably better than 2/3 of the guy's on the team. We're still an over-ripening team and I think ASP is a classic example of someone that can benefit from that.

60% chance Buch makes it.
20% chance ASP does.
We'll assume that they're independent (though I suspect one making it decreases the other's odds slightly) and so it's 12% of both.
I think you’re spot on. I think Buch starts with Det or is traded by next season. ASP I think gets used to smaller ice and comes up around Christmas.

Larkin, Raymond, Edvinsson and let's say goalie are the most important in this team. It's a core . Debrincat, Kasper, Kane, Chiarot, Berggren Soderblom and AJo are secondary more important players. It's 11 guys I don't want to see getting traded. Rest of the guys could be easily get replaced.
Yzerman needs to be very careful bring someone who could improve our team , same time, not ruining chemistry.
Just keep Kasper on the first line good for him and I believe Larkin and Raymond like him. We could get second line center: Cazin ?, Zegras? Pettersson?
Keep AJo with Edvinsson .
