Anyone else think it's time for us to give Danielson and anyone else doing well in GR some playing time with the big club? Maybe let's try Soderblom too?

Copp had a good game so how about we sit Compher and Veleno. Then roll out:

Cat-Larkin-Ray
Burger-Kasper-Tank
Danielson-Copp-Kane
Soderblom-Ras-Motte

Rotate Copp, Ras, Compher, Kane, Tank and Veleno in and out of the lineup for a few games. We have no secondary scoring so we may as well give some other guys a chance.

Been saying that for a while now ... start dumping bodies and call up soderblom, hanas(even though I think he has no future here ) wallinder etc.... and start giving them looks to see what's there

Danielson I'd wait more down the line, keep him playing top 6 and try to get better offensively. Soderblom is my #1 call up since he'll be 24 and we have to see if hes coming back or not

But ya if it were me veleno and tarasenko before his stock further drops would be the first ones to go

Yes, ME! I said all along ND was a better fit for Kane and Tarasenko. He has better vision, positioning and passing skills than Kasper. The counter is he is not strong enough (Kasper isn't exactly blowing people up). ND will NEVER be a physical presence. II am not even sure the guy needs to shave. Think Ozzie as a center. hahaha.

That said, this team is terrible. The UFA signings are the reason. No way to fix this team during the season. The best the Wings can do look for the best combos available (thus the ND experiment).

Sooooo many pieces need to go: So bad is the team it is easier to say who stays.

Up front: Larkin, Cat, Raymond, Kasper
D: Mo and Simon
Net: Lyon

Of course you are not going to find 8 forwards and 4 D in the offseason. They'll be stuck with Ras, Copp and a few others.

Look at contracts and see who can be moved.

With those expiring at the end of 25, only two decisions need to be made. Burger and Ajo ar eon the fence. Lyon will be signed.

Nine contracts expire in 26. Cossa, Kasper and Simon get extensions. The rest must go.

Using contracts alone, Copp, Compher and Ras stay on the forward lines. MBN makes this team next season. So Yzerman need only find 4. that is still too many. Lets add Lombardi and ND. He need find two.

On D, after the two big dogs, all need to go. Unfortunately, they are stuck with the catatonic Chiarot until his contract expires. The rest are garbage. Petry and Holl will be gone. Replaced by ..... who the heck knows. No one in GR is ready, but Wallinder will be better than either of these two or, at least, no worse. The MUST sign a #3!!!!!!

Net - Lyon provides some stability and Cossa some hope. Yzerman has been OK at finding netminders.

For this season, I had optimism in August, but the lottery doom and gloom clouds are on the horizon.

I think Danielson would be best served by continuing his season in the AHL. To be fair, I don't watch the griffins so that is more of a general/philosophical perspective than a direct commentary on Danielson's game.

That said, I wouldn't be opposed to moving a forward to create some space to give the kids some NHL exposure.

I think the last half of this season should be spent getting PT for young guys. Trade off some high priced vets just to clear cap for next year. Picks aren't as important as making a run at a Rantenen or Marner.

This team lacks that high end scoring. They have a glut of 3-4 liners in waiting. Play them now, and clear the money to get big fish, or be stuck in hockey purgatory.

Not looking to spoil your midday acid trip, but there are roster limitations. You can't just "sit out" 5 guys and call up 5 other guys because you feel like it.

Think the best route is selling guys and playing some kids and making some off season moves to come back better next season

That being said I was looking around and if we're trying to play better and get on a run is someone like kuzmenko from Calgary that could be of interest??

He had a huge season 2 years ago outside of his salary I'm guessing his trade return would be mediocre. Guy has 1 goal and is a ufa at seasons end

Worst case he sucks and he leaves at the end of the year. Again,I'd just sell everyone off

I've also thought Kuzmenko could be a good addition. I wouldn't expect him to regain that 70 point, 39 goal form he showed with Vancouver but maybe he could be a 20 goal guy here. Worth a flier IMO

I thought Soderblom looked good for us when he played last season. Is he strictly not staying up cause we have so much baggage? or you guys think he just can't hang?

Bring in more vets for big money and term. Block kids from playing. Make zero coaching chances despite failure. Rinse and repeat.
Wonder if Buffalo beats NYR tonight - will Rags owner Dolan loses his $hit and demands GM Drury to begin the fire sale?

Does Kane still have any connections with those guys in the Big Apple - would they mind a change in zip code in the Motor City :sarcasm:

Get rid of Tarasenko and Kane. The team looks better when they’re gone.
And here I was suggesting Yzerman partakes in the upcoming NYR fire sale...

What would it take to get cozens out or buffalo if the sabres decide to make a move? Kulich as well, although I doubt they move on from him so soon

While I'll be the 1st to admit ignorance on what each franchise needs are - I would assume Buffalo/Ottawa would want prospects, and/or 1st round draft picks.

From what I've seen on the trade board, they'd want a hockey trade, not more picks.

I’d take Kreider on this team in a heartbeat.

Kreider-Larkin-Raymond
DBC-Kasper-Berggren

Looks a ton better than the current top 6 we have.
