How Do You Expect To Feel About The Avs 2024-25 Deadline?

I expect us to take a big swing or two at areas of need, and I think we will. But it's going to be very hard with so many teams thinking they might make the playoffs, especially the Canadian ones and small market US ones where just getting there means a lot to their fanbase. Our LTIR situation, especially with Landy, makes it tricky too. I think we might see more deadline day stuff this year because I think a lot of teams will wait to sell based on the where they are in the standings.

If this poll were a bet, then I would change my vote. But I expect to be very satisfied, otherwise what fun is this?

Haha, touche, but "expect" also works the way it was used in the question.

1: to consider probable or certain
2: to anticipate or look forward to the coming or occurrence of

You're stuck though. Can't change your vote. 😜

Because he's hardly ever playing?
Yes I know that but if he makes it to come playoff time other teams might want to think twice before facing Avs in the 1st round. Val can probably win one or two playoff games for the Avs if he is healthy and playing. There is a big difference with Val in our lineup and without him.

Hey were you able to find that link to where Sakic and MacFarland both said they will always forgive Nichushkin no matter what?

Sure. You bank on one of the most unreliable players in the league.

CMac... You either make this shit work or you gets the Eller again.

He's gone from hockey nerd with a pocket protector to some crazy psycho.

Eller definitely puts the lotion on the skin. You seen that guy's face? Positively radiant.

Nuke is a game changer come playoff time. We have no choice and we can't just give away Nuke. Just like that. He did so much for us and I am ready to give Nuke 1 more chance as our record is so much better when Nuke plays and if Landy plays will still have a chance to compete in playoffs.

I said very satisfied, and that's basing things as though nothing changes, but we get healthy. I'd love to make some points here:

1. We have the worlds best forward and defenseman on our team.
2. Our top 6 (particularly 2nd line) is changing every other game - let Nuke, Lehks, Mitts get some chemistry
3. Necas is a thing of beauty to behold
4. Landy returning would be ideal. A bottom 6 of: Wood, Colton, Drury, LOC, Landy & Parss is league leading
5. We miss Josh Manson - his leadership, calming influence at the back is insane. His size and grit balances us
6. Our goalies are amazing now - amazing.

In summary, all we need to be is healthy, cap compliant, and give some time to build chemistry, and look out. This is going to happen as we approach the playoffs, and at the perfect time. I know people are concerned, but my confidence is as high as our Stanley Cup team with this group. Manson and Nukes size and muscle mean a lot to team balance here.

I'm pumped for this coming stretch. I really think we are going to witness us murder a few teams.

Sid.
A solid D.
Mitts and Colton/Wood out.
Then Landy and Nuke playing, Nuke earlier Landy playoffs.

Make it happen and I'll be happy.

He’s really been a game changer for our opponents lately.

Love ya, Eagles.

But I disagree strongly with the bolded.

Three of those guys have zero points in their last 10 games (four, if we include the 13th forward - Kiviranta), and one hasn't played hockey in 3 years.

I know folks have talked long and often about how playing the top five so much burns them out.

But should any consideration be given to our bottom nine for not getting enough minutes to produce? You have to have ice-time to produce, is 10-11 minutes while constantly changing partners and lines really enough for folks to develop chemistry and succeed?
