Continuing this theme from the same poll last year. How do you expect to feel about the Avs deadline moves? Can include moves leading up to the deadline.

Feel free to expand on your reasoning here, but specific and general trade talk can probably stay in the trade thread, to avoid two places talking about the same thing.

If they make moves that have value beyond this season they make them more competitive then I’d be good. I would not go after any rentals they are too far from cup contention. Frankly they need to sort out Landy and Nuke like permanently then go from there.

Looking at the points they propably make to playoffs but at the current rate having success is like playing roulette at casino.

-No rentals
-Any trades looking up for next year and beyond go for it
-Fix whatever is wrong with Val (not including the obvious) or trade him to a player who can be in the lineup
-Upgrade Manson
-Mittlestadt maybe broken but I dont wanna lose a 1st again to trade him away or end up with line filler for him
-Landy needs to be in the lineup latest at the start of next season or LTRetire, the decision is hindering Avs moneywise.

More or less you look at this steamy pile I really dont envy CMac's job at the moment to try and fix it. So money things gone wrong and bad assets to trade away for obvious reason plus Landy.

I also have a feeling that the way Bednar makes the players make some of the player look so much worse than they actually are to lower their trade value, so some of the blame should go to him also.

This is exactly it. Without clarity on these two guys, they're stuck in the mud.

The elephant in the room is Josh Manson imo, even more so than Mittelstadt. He's been extremely bad this season, in a year where Girard has been awesome. Get the 2RD position fixed first and foremost.

I wonder if the Isles would be willing to part with Ryan Pulock. He would be a perfect fit.

Disappointed because the expectations are so low.

I think we should look for long-term deals. That's about it. Way too many holes in the lineup.

Time to blow up this team(Off-season). Trade everyone we don't need or think they are up to the level needed. TIME FOR CLEANING! Keep the core pieces and maybe we can still get few runs out of this team. You have one of the best centers in the world, the best D, great goaltender. Those are massive pieces. We only need to hit few home runs and we can compete.

you can always Washington it. They looked hopeless team last season. Or not much hope for the future.. and Boom they are back.

Sorry, but no.

Either he is in or can, or not. You cant let this slide into another off season and hold backl 7 mill in much needed capspace.
We need cap-clarity asap/before the offseason gets going. And this is going to be a huge offseason for this franchise. Many holes to fill, Necas to sign, UFA to target,.....

Thats my take. As much as i love Landy and as much as i wish he would come back and play for us again or the AVS pulling the greatest "Kucherov" ever.

But at this point, all signs are pointing to "LTRetirement". The love for the game should never be higher than your love for the family and health.

I think you and him are saying literally the exact same thing.

I remember Hearing mittlestadt was on the block? ... if there was a 3 way deal where compher was brought back would fans be upset?

If it wasnt for the contract I'm guessing he would have stayed ??

Yeah, that ship has sailed. Not what we need anymore.

Our coach loves him, though, and would probably want him back, but this is a situation where the GM needs to not even give him that option.

Hella apathetic. No move or moves will push us over the top. Highly doubtful. Just get rid of the dead weight (Mittlestadt, Colton) and give me some optimism for the offseason. I'll take futures at this point and load up on assets. The Rantanen move gave us breathing room with the cap crunch so we have some light at the end of the tunnel in terms of the extending our window.

Retool not rebuild is the name of the game. If you're getting someone at the deadline, give me term (Jones). Absolutely no rentals. Do I trust Cmac in this scenario? Guess we'll see.

I expect us to take a big swing or two at areas of need, and I think we will. But it's going to be very hard with so many teams thinking they might make the playoffs, especially the Canadian ones and small market US ones where just getting there means a lot to their fanbase. Our LTIR situation, especially with Landy, makes it tricky too. I think we might see more deadline day stuff this year because I think a lot of teams will wait to sell based on the where they are in the standings.

If this poll were a bet, then I would change my vote. But I expect to be very satisfied, otherwise what fun is this?

I fully expect the season to be over in March, like it was in 2023, because the trade deadline came and went and the Avs still don't have a true second line center - a major requirement for postseason success.

And that will make two of cMac's three seasons as GM that his season ended in March, when he's had MacKinnon and Makar in their primes.

Not quite. I want this solved before Free Agency starts, not in september. :D

However, there has to be clarity asap.

How i feel about the upcoming TDL?

"I dont care" is my vote. This team wont go all the way this season. Doesnt matter if CMAc goes crazy....

By the time the playoffs roll around our top-dogs will be out of gas anyway.....

I expect to be disappointed.

I don't think my disappointment will come from the lack of moves, as I simply don't see a 2C and 2RD available that we can acquire, but rather the realization that we're wasting another year of Nate and Cale.

I expect Makar to become the highest paid player in the game when it's time for his new contract, and I do believe he will get that contract with us. MacKinnon and Makar will be Avs for the entirety of their careers. However, we probably have 3-4 top end years left of these two generational superstars and we're just pissing away run after run.

Getting past the second round once with those guys is a complete and utter embarrassment. Looking at the big boys in the West... Edmonton, Vegas, Winnipeg, Dallas... I just don't see us getting past them again this year.

It's the disappointment that, without miraculously filling our pressing needs, this will be another wasted season.

I'm likely to be disappointed unless we get some combination of Crosby/Kadri/Zacha and Jones/Provorov (or equivalent) sooo..

Yep high probability of disappointment. Very low chance of very satisfied, and outside shot at satisfied.

If the big win is Dumoulin it's time for Cmac to go.

Expecting dissapointment.

Avs are 9-9-2 in the last 20 with a +2 goal differential. Nearly half of their goals (25/52) came from three players (Lehky, MacK, Makar).

This team is not very good and needs a lot just to get out of the 1st round. It would take something similar to Vegas's 2024 deadline (Hanafin/Hertl/Mantha) for me to start feeling good about the Avalanche's chances this year.

I do think Cmac will act if he can, but they're not throwing the kitchen sink at NY for Nelson either.

At least we don't have long before we know. 11 days..

I'll be very satisfied if they DON'T DO A DAMN THING. This current roster has proven it's not interested in competing or worth investing in. Wash our laundry in the off season and try again.

There are definitely ways we can improve for this season and next, and those are the things I imagine they are looking at most now. I think the Mittelstadt thing is a shame because he looked like a different player until he started looking like an ineffective top 6 player. If they can get value and a few years of a guy that fits better (which right now isn't a big ask), then I definitely am ready to move on from him. I don't think we'll see a pure rental unless it's a guy who costs very little in assets or if we win 6 in a row or something and CMac's massive nuggets start to bristle with energy.

Cautiously optomistic. Cmac has taken a lot of wrong turns the past few years. But he has proven to be agressive in fixing those mistakes. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt until the 7th.
