One of the things that marks this season is that their play is sustainable and process seems really good. They look great and have good metrics in general. It's not like we're getting lucky or only winning because of Helle (though he is obviously also playing out of his mind). We've also passed the point where we normally crash into a gigantic slump and still seem to be playing quality hockey.

So, my main hope at this point is just that we carry this form into play-offs. I will be extremely disappointed if we don't make it out of the first round... but after that, knowing how much luck plays a roll in the play-offs... well, anything can happen, but as long as we are actually playing well and deserving of wins I'll consider that a huge step for this team.

Honestly though with the way this season is going, I will feel some disappointment no matter what if we don't go at least to the conference finals.

Its hard to win the CUP

its what we all wish for.

But President trophy and trip to the finals would we awesome on top of this awesome season so far.
Though losing in the finals would hurt !!

But Go Jets Go

Win it for the
HELLY
SCHEIFELE
CONNOR
LOWRY
MORRISSEY
AND EHLERS

Specially for Mark SCHEIFELE the longest serving Jets 2.0

The amount of booby gifs i see in May...

For me, it's more about the process

I'm looking for consistent solid efforts and a commitment to playing the system/structure (aka "buy in"). So far this season, there hasn't been much to complain about. A game here and a game there, but that happens to every team

If they end up losing in the first round in the same fashion as last year, it won't be ideal. But if they leave it all on the ice, play the right way and just get beaten by a team that's better, then I'm OK with that

So many things have to go right to win a cup... even really good teams with generational talent need to "catch lightening in a bottle" so to speak

My goodness, there are so many balanced opinions here, founded on logic and thoughful calm. Love it.

Since the team has clearly gelled, I would like:

- to win a couple of series
- for the Jets to carry their confidence into the post season
- anything else over and above this is pure lutefisk; but I do think they have the bolde to make something happen this year.

The charitable interpretation of this post is that you have not tried lutefisk...

There are tons of great teams that fail to make it to the Stanley Cup finals. While Cup or Bust would be a nice thing, we were never projected to be a Cup favourite, nevermind a Stanley Cup contender at the start of the season. Get out of the first round, which has been their bugbear for the last six years. I would consider that a marginal success. Give us more than two games of playoff revenue.

Well, even though I voted cup, because that is my 'hope', I'm already really happy with this season. This has been the most fun I've had during a regular season. No drama (except Stanley :) ) and a team that seems to have gelled and is playing for each other. That makes me the happiest.

Barring any huge injuries, we are completely capable of going all the way. We have great depth and seem to be playing to a system that works for the roster we have.

Anyway, I always hope for the Cup, but this year has already been successful for me as a Jets fan.

Not sure

No matter what this regular season will be a big success if we finish off well. A Presidents Trophy would be one for the ages for sure and it would be a huge feather in the cap for this team.

Full stop

The playoff is a different animal altogether. Over the last half decade we have been the least competitive NHL team in the post season. The good news is every post season presents a chance to flip the script. It’s hard for me to imagine Hellebuyck not going on at least one post season run as a Jet. Maybe this is the season but honestly I don’t care all that much one way of the other unless we are talking about a cup of course. I have “joyfully” come to the conclusion that I don’t believe that will happen in this lifetime and I am at pease with it.

The journey has been phenomenal for me this season and another 5 game exit won’t change that. A good playoff run would be nice but I don’t really care all that much one way or the other. Losing in the cup final would provide fun memories but it would REALLY SUCK to get that close and lose.

I voted SCF final.

Today I'd be happy with significant showing in 3rd round

But I'm projecting (hoping) significant add(s) at trade deadline, esp on D, which will raise expectations.

3 Straight seasons of excellence , mature invested and committed core.

It’s time to go deep. time to exorcise the demons, time to push through adversity and doubt. silence the haters, and win.
you could see the shock last year. The Jets went in expecting to win… the wheels fell of and it bothered them to a man. they knew they were better than the result.

they carried that all off season, came into this season with HUGE chips on thier shoulders. feeling the disrespect the media, fans, and gamblers heap on Winnipeg and its players….

used that loss and that dismissal as motivation…and just keep winning!

this is a year the pieces are all there. we stay healthy, i don’t even think we need a trade.

we can get some guys back on the ice, and probably stand pat and be a danger to win it all!

Cup or bust for me.

My expectations are elevated based on the first 50+ games.
These guys have experienced quite a bit together.

A presidents trophy and the Stanley Cup win or bust for me.

I like this

At the very least, making it to the 2nd round would show as an improvement year-over-year

That said, I'm not sure how much more runway this team has, so to speak. With the core aging, I think that it's too late to "babystep" to a cup. There needs to be a big step taken at some point

From happiest to least happy:

1) Win the Cup (Win 4 rounds) +10
2) Win the President's Trophy +5
3) Make the SCF (Win 3 rounds) +4
4) Make the WCF (Win 2 rounds) +3
5) Win the division +2
...
6) Win 1 round only -2
7) Win 0 rounds -7

Max is 24 (win everything). Winning the Cup alone is 17. Winning the regular season but out in R1 is neutral. Minimum is -7 (win nothing).

This is pretty much where I sit -
If they give it their all, leave it all out there, and stick to the formula, I will have no issues with this team regardless of the results.
And if they do all these things, they will play beyond the 1st round - assuming we are healthy and don't run into a super hot goaltender.

What would make me super happy is a cup win - we have the team to get that done.
