2 things.

How do we bounce back from what was the most blatantly obvious referee screw job in game 2?

And if we do and win in 6 or 7, would this run be the Rangers best ever as far as overcoming adversity? Discuss

Just continue. Kings have had the margins on their side in the entire play-off off. They only show up for periods and when they are trailing, and even though they have done it very well it's not a sustainable plan. The puck and refs cannot alwaya bounce their way. It's incredibly frustrating to put in big efforts and loose by chance, but sooner or later LA will experience the same, but for them their entire plan is to get the margins go their way when they need it the most, and they appear more tired than NY. A lucky undeserved Hank win tonight would be a good start.

This is the wrong mentality to have. Going into Game 3 thinking "we got screwed by the refs and the series should be 1-1 blah blah blah" is not going to help them moving forward.

Instead, focus on what the team did wrong and correct it. STOP GETTING CUTE WITH THE PUCK WHEN YOU HAVE A LEAD. Play better defense, do not turn the puck over in your own zone.

FORGET ABOUT THE PAST 2 GAMES, they are ancient history. Do NOT focus on being down 2-0, and needing 4 wins. Instead, focus for now on GETTING THIS SERIES EVEN. Win BOTH home games.

After we do that THEN we can discuss what to do for games 5 through 7, but NOT BEFORE. Focus on these upcoming 2 games. Use the last game's bad call as MOTIVATION instead of letting eat at you. Say to yourself "I have that EXTRA DRIVE now to win these 2 home games because of what happened in Game 2". Turn a NEGATIVE into a POSITIVE.

AV needs to make adjustments. Start by GETTING RICHARDS OFF THE POWER PLAY. He is slow as ***** and his shot from the point is so weak it ALWAYS gets blocked. Put 2 D-men back there.

The Kings have become darlings this year by coming back from when they are down and out in series and turning around to win them. LETS STEAL A PAGE FROM THEIR BOOK TONIGHT. Irony is in the air, because it will now be US who comes back against THEM in these finals, when they are the favorite and we are the underdogs.

Tonight, the comeback begins. I can't tell you whether it will be 6 games, or 7 games...but I CAN tell you that when the dust clears, WE WILL COME OUT ON TOP.

It starts tonight.

You lost your two road games by a hair. You keep doing what you're doing and we should win the home games and steal a road game.

Keep playing well.

Honestly this. LA can't pull a rabbit out of their ***** every single time. I can now easily see why they've gone 7 in all of their series so far. They do not dominate. They've held a lead in this series for exactly 0.0 seconds flat.

Continue to do the things we do well. They do not seem to have an answer for what we do that makes us effective.

Defensively we have to be alot better.

Collectively we have had some brain cramps in the defensive zone and some passes have gone up the middle of the ice (looking at you Klein) McDonagh has three points in this finals, but he has made a few mistakes as well. Girardi is getting pretty banged up and I think it's affected some of the decisions he has made.

Cannot have three 2 goal leads and lose that game regardless of the BS non-call against Dwight King.

Yes, is has an effect. Still leading. HAVE to clamp down in that game they way we did in NY against Montreal.

No excuses

Play better defense.
Play the body. Too many times a Ranger has a chance to put a check on and eases up.
Cross check the Kings player in front of the net. This series and last its been free game for any defensemen on a Ranger, I see no reason not to return the favor.
Take Richards off the power play, or at least take him off the point.
Carry the puck into the zone. They're bigger and we're not winning the boards as much as needed.
Have ownership file a restraining order against O'halloran and Scott Driscoll.

LA are a good team. They make us pay for our mistakes. We need to be inch perfect.

How to bounce back?

First, the ref's call shouldn't be an issue any longer. When the puck is dropped it'll be nearly 48 hours away from that call. It can't be changed and the series is 2-0. No saving them there. If it's an issue, then this team will lose tonight. Can only look forward, and they all will, especially Henrik, who would be the one most affected by the non-call. Second, need to get back to playing hockey the way the played against PITT. They know they can score on LA. They know they can shutdown top lines. They need to do both. What they also need is that clutch scoring. They can get the lead, but can't seem to get it back. While the PP scored a goal on Saturday, they had some chances late in the game (OT) and really couldn't get it going. They need a nice 2-1 win tonight. A bit tough on the nerves, but they need a tight defensive game, which is what got them here in the first place. They're home (which hopefully becomes an advantage due to the travel), and hopefully this is where they can get it done.

Try a 3-goal lead instead of a 2-goal lead. Maybe we'll squeak by by only screwing up a little late in the game, rather than a lot.

They shouldnt change a thing, really. Maybe sure up the defensive zone coverage, which has been spotty and chaotic at times, but what else can you really ask for? They are in there against a better team and giving them all they can handle.

I think they need to stay aggressive late in the game. This team sits back and just lets the Kings take over.

Also, I want to see more Dorsett. He's been flying all over the place and has generally been great so far. This series is far from over.

Exactly this.

LA hasn't played well at all. They're lucky this is 2-0.

Yes, score 3 goals in the first period instead of 2. Kings play awful in the 1st period and try to make up for it in the 2nd and 3rd. Meanwhile we play awful in 2nd periods. Stop playing awful in the 2nd periods!

Learn how to play with a lead.

Game 2 they played pretty well with the lead. They kept answering back after the Kings scored. LA scored on 2 of their first 5 shots in the 3rd and the Rangers limited their scoring chances. That was the definition of a brutal loss. They absolutely deserved to win that game.

We had a good second period in game 2 !

Good luck to-night.

You have been a bit unlucky so far but you are still well in it. Get the puck East West across the front of Quick and you are half way there. Only Tim Thomas cheated by coming so far out.

Give it to them loud. I'm a Canuck fan who wants to see AV with the SC he should have had in 2011.

As discussed in another thread, waiting for Miller to replace BR next year is apparently not an option that can wait.
Make an all speed line:
Kreider Miller MSL
prob put D Moore on 2Lw/Stepan + Nash

As to bold. What do you suggest?
Move Girardi to less mins at third pair?
Maybe 1st pair is
LD Staal RD McD
then
Stralman - Klein
Moore - Girardi

or maybe just give the warrior the night off so he's stronger later on and take our chances with Connor Allen?

The Kings have a very good, very hard forecheck. The Rangers are trying to beat it with a stretch pass and speed game. The Kings so far have had the tendency to be more vulnerable earlier in games where their team speed is more of an issue and the Kings opposition more vulnerable later in games tends to wear down from getting hit all night long. The Rangers are trying to move the puck really quickly and that can lead to mistakes--being beaten up and more tired later on in games can lead to more mistakes. To me it's more the classic boxer-brawler thing.
