I am glad so many studies have shown the positive benefits of corporeal punishment oh wait

I bet you parents blame the schools and your friends when you do something wrong.

When my daughter was a wee one, punishment for infractions was usually loss of tv and videos. When she was older, it was grounding and revocation of computer/phone. Never went beyond that.

When she was in grade six, she was sent to the Principal's office for telling her science teacher to "chill out", then in grade ten she developed a habit of skipping PE class. That's the sum total of trouble she was in at school.

Both my wife and I were raised with corporal punishment and we both swore we'd never do it to our own kid.

Got really lucky. Our kid's always been super well behaved. She's actually moving out at the end of the month. Don't know what I'm going to do without a hundred half-empty teacups littering the kitchen counters.

My kids are 6, 5, and 21 months. Punishment is to sit on the stairs for as many minutes as their age...so 6 mins for the 6 year old, and so on.

My daughter who is the youngest doesn't really grasp punishment but she knows when she does something bad because she just stands still and closes her eyes. It's the cutest thing ever and I can't get mad at that. haha. She's already got me wrapped around her little finger.

There's also the old classic of sending them to their room.

I like that one, age based time outs.

I've got a 4 and almost 2 year old, I put them to bed until they're quiet. Start crying or yelling again, and back they go.
