How did you feel about the 2019 Raptors championship?

I don't really care for basketball but I was happy that a Toronto franchise won the title.

I think a lot more of us tuned into basketball with raps success .. city got tuned up with house parties everywhere .. but as happy as it was it was a big downer when Leonard went back home instead of going for a double with us .. also fun when we had Seba winning at TFC which I enjoyed even more .. but those 2 gents are gone and with them went our city championship hopes .. i thought Matty would be next guy to carry city but I don't think so anymore that ship sailed .. lets hope it is not another almost 30 years (93 Jays) before our next one .. looks like Jays have next big chance in a couple years

I watched most of the second round onward and it was fun to watch.

I still have better memories and enjoyment of the Jays runs in 2015 & 2016.

I would rank Bautista's bat flip higher than Kawhi's game 7 buzzer beater personally.

One of the most satisfying sports runs a Torontonian would experience. The level of grit and drama associated with rounds 2-4 were pretty amazing. The gutsy performances from the top guys like Kawhi and Lowry in key moments. The big men Ibaka and Gasol chipping in with the basketball equivalent of a 200 foot game. Young Siakam stepping up. FVV’s clutch and confident three pointers. Depth like Powell and whomever else I’m forgetting. Nick Nurse’s creative coaching. Exorcising playoff demons. Ending a dynasty.

the Jays back to back world series >>>>>> raptors championship.

raptors was a complete one off.

bring in a super star. have that superstar win you a championship. lose that superstar.

rinse, repeat.

I would give up every single player on the Leafs roster, and miss the playoffs for the next 20 seasons, to win one cup.
It's been 54 years since getting to even play in a Cup final.
17 years since seeing the second round.
19 years since seeing a Conference Final.

I'd gladly take a one and done.

It was great, although I'm still not as big on Masai as most.
He bought a championship with a well timed trade, but the team sucks now and the prospects are all 6th men at best imo.

Hypothetical... Is it better to win one championship than miss the playoffs for 10 years straight, or to make the playoffs for 10 years straight but never win a championship.

Most leafs fans would probably say the former. I probably would as well tbh. Either way I was happy and wish the leafs could do the same.

I’m a Houston Rockets fan so it didn’t mean anything to me, nice to see the city so happy though.

0-27 and CP going down in game 5 still hurts my soul

The 5 to 7 years leading up to the championship run and the winning of the championship has made me a fan for life. I used to despise basketball. Now I sit down and watch and follow it with no problem.

For me, it'll likely never take over my Leafs and Jays 1/1A affiliation. But do I think the Raptors can eventually supersede both in popularity in 10/20/30 years time? I don't think it's as far-fetched as many might believe.
