Tavares and Rielly being moved out first before Marner isn't a terrible alternative solution. Those guys chew up $18.5 million on the cap and all we get out of them is a declining 2C and a maybe a 2-3 Dman.

I've been away all weekend, and am just catching up on games.
When I read this I was sure it was a bad joke, as I was watching it early in the third and Canada was up 6-1.

Tavares has to be one of the most disliked Captains I can remember.
The only one worse was his immediate predecessor. They went from wannabe bad ass rock star to squeaky clean goody two shoes. They both failed spectacularly in their individual ways.
This team has been a rudderless ship since Sundin left.
After the latest playoffs embarassment they should be stripping Tavares of the "C". Read our lips. We don't want you here anymore.
Half of us didn't want you here in the first place.
Take your $77M and go live happily ever after playing for some team not named the Toronto Maple Leafs. Everyone would be so much better off for it. Including the boat anchor captain fans are begging to be off the team.
You can't buy respect.
