I want to start this off by saying Pettersson isn't being moved unless the Canucks are very worried about his knee and how he'll bounce back. I think the whole Canucks thinking is to get 2C behind Pettersson but at worst they need to get as much as possible for him.

Now saying that, would Horvat + COL 2026 1st + for Pettersson be enough? I'm sure there'd be other suitors out there, but with his cap hit and injury status, I think that a lot more teams than usual would be out on him. Also from the NYI pov, Horvat has a NTC but he might be willing to go back to Vancouver if he sees a rebuild is coming for the Isles. I don't think that's incredibly realistic and we'll have to wait a couple of years til it becomes a m-NTC, but I just wanted to see value-wise if it works and in general if the idea is valid.

Just what this team needs. Another guy who goes ghost like Pierre Engvall did most of the season. Not even remotely worth it for the Isles.

Norris+ Trade injured centers. Injury prone VS potentially broken :naughty:

Has Pettersson fallen that far?

A year or 2 ago I would have been laughed if I proposed something like this

On the subject of Pettersson, I always thought a change of scenery trade for Barzal might make sense for both teams

There is no chance Bo will return to Van.

Pettersson had horrible season, expensive contract and some health questions now.

Until these questions will be erased in positive way Vancouver will not get good value for him.

Petterssons ceiling is WAY higher than that of Horvat's - much rather have Pettersson then Horvat at this time.

Not to say I wouldn't trade for Horvat as he is pretty much what we need atm - but we absolutely need the Petey with 100 pt Selke upside if we are going to go anywhere. It's not like he lost that talent..........yes it's a risk that he recovers but it's a risk we have to take as like i said his ceiling and that of Horvat's aren't really comparable.

It's not a risk my isles would consider. You are better of trading to trade him to Det or Buffalo
