He is always playing coy with questions like that from the media. He thinks he’s some sort of coaching savant when really he’s merely at Homer Simpson level.

Woody always struck me as a poor man's Dallas Eakins when he was an assistant coach with the Oilers then head coach of the Condors. Never played in the league. Not like Eakins had a great career in the NHL but he played over a hundred games. Eakins is also a decent looking guy who you can tell did well for himself with the ladies with that self-confidence that comes across as arrogance. Woody's self-confidence comes across as trying too hard in situations like that.

Then Woody replaced Tippett and the Oilers went 26-9-3 the rest of the season, beat the Flames in the playoffs and took the team to the conference finals. Maybe I was wrong with my initial assessment of Woody?!

The Oilers were 23-18-3 when Tippett got fired last season. Any guesses what the Oilers record will be if they go 1-1-0 against LA and Anaheim?

Maybe I wasn't wrong with my initial assessment of Woody.

Calling Woody a poor man's Dallas Eakins is pretty harsh. He's already has more success as an NHL head coach than Eakins likely ever will. I might just be overly bitter but I think Eakins is in his own tier of awful and he was truly the worst part of the "decade of darkness" for me.

I want revenge for the last LA game. Hopefully the Oil try way too hard for this one.

kings fan in peace here. LA Edmonton is a scary matchup for me. Edmonton has elite offensive firepower (at least on the PP and top 2 lines), where as LA D is very piss poor, and their PK is terrible alot of the time (why Durzi keeps getting PK time is beyond me). This leaves me to believe LA's goalie needs to have an above average performance to have any chance.....not at all confident in that.

Kick rocks, glass banger!

Please keep talking and don't stop until puck drop.

Eakins coaching got the Oilers into the exact spot it took to win the McDavid lotto so I'll always have a warm spot in my heart for that pretentious a-hole. :)

Has there ever been a night where all the days slate of games each ended in shutouts? Guess we'll see.

Let there be live.
11 straight goals by the road teams... and the home teams haven't scored a single goal... might be a record.

Well moving JP off the top line really helped against the Isles but then they swiftly turned that around gave a pitiful effort until the final 5 minutes against the Avs last game. That game was just them not moving their legs. Just show an honest effort please. It's well known by now this team is barely a playoff team. But at least maybe now as the games and months tick by they will be forced to try harder. lol
