Legit 1st line C? 2nd line C?

And how good can he become?

He was one of my favorites in the 2020 draft because he reminded me so much of Alfredsson and Zetterberg, a heart and soul future two way captain.

Although I haven't seen him play much i love that his numbers are trending into their territory.

So how close is he to becoming an elite player and do you think he gets there? Where do you rank him among centers currently?

He'll top out as a slightly better 06-07 Pierre-Marc Bouchard (better at goal scoring).

He's 5'9. You can't project much higher than that. If anything, you need to be realistic about his health past 32-33 given the rigours of the NHL.

Long term, I see him in the 65-75 point season totals on average (more or less depending on his PP usage) and being a solid #2C.

I once thought he'd be a guy who could put up 80 points while providing two-way play in his best years, and ranked him highly in his draft as a result. I then lowered my expectations to 60 points and mediocre two-way play (more due to his lack of size and strength than his willingness) at his peak. Now that he has become stronger and faster I'm readjusting once more to 80 points and good two-way play in his best years.

He's a good #2 center, and could become a baseline #1 center, but probably not an elite one. Probably, because at this point I can't count him out because all he's done is overcome everything thrown at him and done everything asked of him, and more. He trends up year after year, and those are guys to watch out for as they can become late bloomers.

He keeps surprising me with his ability to overcome obstacles such as Myocarditis, lack of size, strength, and speed. Has worked his ass off so none of them are issues. Has the ability to pick up points. Decent defensively, too. Hovering around 50% on FO's...not great, but better than most young C's.

Right now he is playing like a high end #2C/low end #1C, and there is no reason to think that he won't improve a bit. He's only 23, is a training, diet, and fitness fanatic, and isn't a partier.

Well, he's playing 1C on a top 5 team in the league, currently. But that's also mostly next to a super duper star.

I'd probably say that with decent-to-good top line wingers and #1 PP time (which he doesn't get here when we have a healthy lineup) it's a probably in the 55-65 point range. With Kaprizov and Boldy for a full year, I could definitely see PPG. He might not be as good as those two, but he's not taking a whole lot off the table with them either.
