Agree 100 percent it’s night and day difference the way this team plays on the road and at homeYeah, the bad late period performances have happened way too many times this season.
Not exactly meaningless games when Carolina is playing against the #2 ranked team in the Eastern Conference and Carolina is trying to get back to the 2nd spot in the conference for home ice advantage against everyone in the east except Washington.
In fact, given the bad track record Carolina has with road games in the playoffs over the past few years, I'd say it's more important than some people seem to think.
Post game, RBA said there a few players nicked up right now. Maybe Svetch is one of them. That we’re aware of, anyway.
I'm very sorry you had to drive to the Orlando airport. Might honestly be a more frustrating thing than Charlotte's airport. At least Orlando has an excuse though.
The new terminal isn’t bad, but last I saw it was just international and Jet Blue. The old terminal is hell on earth.
All true, I’ve been there sometimes when it takes an hour just to loop around back to arrivals. Terminal C is the new one, very nice, had to pick up my daughter there on Wednesday, right next to the cell phone lot and very easy in/out. All that said, it was very quiet tonight and got in and out in no time at all.I believe that is correct. New terminal is pretty much international. The old terminal couldn't handle all the traffic anymore especially from international tourists.
They really need to expand the domestic terminal. Problem is I'm sure whatever they do won't be enough. Maybe just build a second airport at Disney or something.

Man I generally don't mind Orlando but I was there last week and it was a f***ing nightmare. Delta had flights to RDU, JFK, Minneapolis and Detroit all boarding at the exact same time all in adjacent gates all at the dead end of that terminal. Absolute pure chaos of gate agents all talking over each other having to clarify and argue amongst themselves about which gate what in which boarding zone and f*** all ability to move around for us because of the volume of people all there at once.I'm very sorry you had to drive to the Orlando airport. They’re on a gurney.2 goals 6 shots, we're not even limping into the playoffs, we're flat out quitting
This is pretty much every day in the summer because of the daily thunderstorms between 1-3 PM. Everything gets delayed by an hour or so and chaos ensues.Man I generally don't mind Orlando but I was there last week and it was a f***ing nightmare. I used to go to the 7 eleven off of 528. It’s not the way GPD wants you to go but it’s an easy fill up and on/off right before the airport.I'm sure you're aware of this but I'll share for you and/or anyone else who reads this.
Do not fill up at Sun Gas north of the airport near where a lot of the car rental places are. That place is a scam and should be shut down. For context, they not only price gouge, but they don't advertise their prices from the highway. Shit should be illegal. Owner apparently from what I've been told gets away with it because of some loophole.

Since they already have to beat a team without home ice to even potentially see the Leafs in the conference finals I'm not sure it's worth getting worked up over home ice at this point.Yeah, the bad late period performances have happened way too many times this season.

kk in for aho ghost in for Slavin possibly Nikishin in for Orlov and then if they can call up a guy or two from Chicago you could sit Jarvis and Staal. Would be cool to reward Nadeau with a couple games after the season he’s had
With the 4 game losing streak Carolina had recently, and losing last night, it's more than just Toronto we're looking at finishing the season higher in the conference standings than us.Since they already have to beat a team without home ice to even potentially see the Leafs in the conference finals I'm not sure it's worth getting worked up over home ice at this point.
For the last two games it should be stay healthy, hope to see Nikishin get his visa and for the love of god Rod, stop running Slaving and Burns into the damn ground.
I'm not saying the don't matter at all but before you even worry about the ECF you need to beat Washington on the road. So they'll have at least partially figured out how to win on the road if they see an Atlantic Division team. If the choice is fight for home ice in round 3 or get everyone rested and healthy give me healthy and rested. With the 4 game losing streak Carolina had recently, and losing last night, it's more than just Toronto we're looking at finishing the season higher in the conference standings than us.
Tampa is currently 1 point ahead of us, and that puts us at 4th in the east. Florida is only 1 point behind us. It's also worth noting that all of these teams have played the same amount of games as us: 80. So, it's not like we have an extra game on one or more of our competition.
Considering how poorly Carolina has been playing for several games now, I wouldn't be surprised if we finished 4th or 5th in the east. So, yes. These games matter, because, again, Carolina has played badly on the road in the playoffs; the national broadcasters pointed it out this past week with the stats on the screen showing the big difference of their records at home and away.
Rod said yesterday kk and ghost are back in Wednesday likelySo replace Aho and Slavin with two guys that are just coming off injuries? Isn’t the whole point of resting players before the playoffs to give them time to recover from any injuries they may have accumulated over the season? And based off that Tulsky interview, Nikishin isn’t getting in these last two games.
FWIW: I haven't checked this out myself but I saw on another team's forum, that someone stated that home games in a series between 2 different Divisions is based on Division standings placement. Thus, Canes as a #2 would have home games against a team that had more points than us but was #3 in the Atlantic. With the 4 game losing streak Carolina had recently, and losing last night, it's more than just Toronto we're looking at finishing the season higher in the conference standings than us.

I think reading that last line it's the team with the higher point total gets home ice even if they were 3rd in their division playing against the 1st place team in another division.FWIW: I haven't checked this out myself but I saw on another team's forum, that someone stated that home games in a series between 2 different Divisions is based on Division standings placement. ah, found it on NHl.com..now question is whether they mean NHL standings for entire League or just a Divisional placement?:

Okay, fair enough. I suppose there was a misunderstanding.I'm not saying the don't matter at all but before you even worry about the ECF you need to beat Washington on the road. Edit: I just noticed before posting this that CanesUltimate11 has the same interpretation that I do (he made his post while I was writing mine), but I'll post this anyway.FWIW: I haven't checked this out myself but I saw on another team's forum, that someone stated that home games in a series between 2 different Divisions is based on Division standings placement. Sorry for the double post (since I can't edit a quote in a previous post), but it is worth reflecting on how brutal last offseason was for our roster.I mean I get it, but this was not going to be our season anyway, and we basically all knew it heading in. We were in a cap crunch, lost our entire 2nd pairing from the year prior as well as our biggest goal scoring threat and another top 6 winger, and our moves to replace those were Roslovic, Walker, and Ghost... just an all-around (expected) downgrade. We pretty much all expected this team to finish around 3rd in the division, and if the division was as strong as the last few years that's where we'd be.
And that's without time catching up to Burns being a factor as well without having someone internally force the issue of getting his ass down to the 3rd pair where he should be. With any luck Nikishin might, even playing his off-side, but the 2nd pairing is still an issue even if he can fix the issue with the first pairing. This year ways always an expected step back before the next window for a reason. We actually did have something go pretty right with Blake stepping into Turbo's spot pretty well all things considered.
If this off-season goes right we'll be in a much better place to make a run next season as long as we don't completely strike out on a goalie.
