Don't blame the players.
The source of Russia's disasters is the Russian Hockey Federation.
Since Alexander Steblin stepped in as President the RHF, it's been getting worse and worse. He just thinks that Russia can win the World Championship by starting a new team all over again every year. NO Mr. Steblin. You gotta give a coach 2 or 3 years to build a team with its specific style of play, practice methods, and so on. But Steblin just won't let it happen.
Believe me as soon as Fetisov, the Russian Sports Minister, gets a chance to change things with the Federation, he will. He knows he has full support from President Putin, and he will use it to his and Russian hockey's advantage.
Steblin is an idiot. He believes that brining back a 74-year old coach with his outdated (since 1985) methods is going to change Russian hockey.
