how did Calgary lose to Chicago, what a joke!

Edit: even bigger joke San Jose loses to the depleted Hawks roster.

I know hey???? I have the exact same team as the #1 ranked Sharks today(Power Ranking) minus Boyle. But I got A TON of Grit in Pavel Kubina and Daniel Girardi and between the two of them they have more points then Boyle? Go figure

I think it was a good idea the CHI GM didn't post his roster in the thread. Or it's just that people don't understand just how good Duncan Keith really is and how bad Huet can be at times.

I also think you underestimate Boyle here as well though. He's a game-breaker, which neither of your new 2 guys are. Your PP would also likely be hurt considerably by this move.

I know that he is a game breaker but I don't think that there is much difference in the PP...Both players excell on the PP and imo Kubina is more of a game breaker due to the shots blocked, and punishment that he has the ability to dish out. Boyle does not have this ability. Also, Girardi is a good defensive defensman with offensive upside and he is 10X's cheaper and 10 years younger! My defense got stronger not weaker, PP and Defensive. Defense wins games too, so I don't see how I lost to Chicago with a defensive core of Kubina-Erhoff, Blake-Vlassic, Girardi and Murray? My forward lines are really solid as well with Thornton, Setoguchi, Michalek, Marleau, Clowe, Cheecoo etc...Not to mention one of the Best goales in the world in Nabokov. They have Toews, Kane, Sharp, Versteeg and Havlat. Keith, Campbell and Barker on Defense and Huet in net. I'm pretty sure that I should have won this matchup hands down

Agreed you should have won. But you were the best D-corps in the WC already WITH Boyle and I think you need to look at stats beyond this year. Boyle >> Kubina. TBL's descend into the depths of the standings started with Boyle's freak injury last year... They were always at least a decent hockey club before that.

Results are in for the conference final!

Detroit wins over Chicago 8-3.

Montreal wins over Boston 6-5 (thanks to all for the votes again :))

I love the fact that both my last rounds were tie until I voted for myself. I was the tie breaker in both my last round. :handclap:

So the Final of the 2009 Stanley Cup is:

:wings VS :habs

Winner will be announce tommorow afternoon, remember that the draft will be on Sathurday and IslesRock4 is in charge of it.
