I can't prove to you how I know this, so if the mods need to take it down, or people want to take it with a grain of salt, so be it...

But I can tell you, that during his one visit on Sportsnet for the deadline, he was completely exposed, behind the scenes. First and foremost, he insisted on being in an empty board room, whereas all of the other "insiders" were all in the same room, swapping information, trying to piece things together. Eklund wanted to be in a room alone to "protect his sources." He was also updating his website through the day as well.

What started to happen, however, was he had slots in the rundown where they might come to him if he "had anything" and they would come to him and he would share some piece of information that the other "insiders" knew to be false. So they started to drop his hits because it was clear he was just guessing and making stuff up. But they spent some money to bring him in. and advertised that he was part of the deadline team, so they weren't going to drop him altogether.

Because he wouldn't join the others, there was no way to get everyone on the same page, or even ensure that he wasn't going to say something during a hit that was embarrassing. And then sure enough, he "reveals" Ryan Smyth is re-signing with the Oilers, only to have him traded at the same time.

I always wondered why, of all the things to make up, he claimed Smyth was re-signing. He had to know that was a real long shot of a guess.

What exposed him as a fraud is when more people realized that he was getting his "break stuff" by listening on line to different radio stations before a lot of people realized that the fav station was on line.

Also, hockeybuzz was created during the NHL lost season for the NHLPA to get their side of the story out. Eklund was a created name to cover several agents posting their views. After the CBA was sign, the guy in philly her served as webmaster took over the site and ran with it. Being in philly he had a connection to either the players or the team--but after awhile he lost the connection.

I am not sure if the guy currently running is even the OG guy

Bill Meltzer and Mike Augello left the site in November. Bill had a blog up on HockeyBuzz, that we obviously can't read now, that said the two of them were doing a lot of the behind the scenes work for the site and they weren't sure who'd be picking that up.

It was fun to read for a laugh back in its heyday. I'd still occasionally read a Meltzer blog and with him gone I'll likely never go there again.

He and that hockeyyinsiderr guy were the biggest frauds.

There are a lot of frauds on youtube and twitter. I love it when they use each other as sources trying to make it look more legit

There has been another ad apocalypses on youtube and quite a few guys have stopped making money and are now begging for people to pay 5 to 10$ a month to hear them more or less create gossip

I got married four years ago, and my wife and I like watching the Devils together.

We both graduated with literature degrees. I read her EK's blogs and we make fun of the typos.

It's one of those small things that we enjoy doing together.

So yeah, I'm curious to know what happened to the site.
So you're missing out on sexy time and you need EK to help get your wife back in the mood?

To each their own.

I think Eklund is dealing with some personal life issues. He used to do a daily YouTube show every single day Monday-Friday and he hasn’t done a show in over a month.

There was an ad apocalypse on youtube about 2 months ago and many vloggers have been scrambling behind the scenes to get sponsorships and begging people to subscribe to their patron page and other stuff.

I know a travel channel I did some work for over the past 6 years has more or less shut down due to changes made without notice in October. It wasn't until late November that vloggers realized how it would affect them.

The way the guy I worked for explained it to me is that if you monitize your channel, you have reach certain targets to get paid. Every couple of year, youtube moves the base target to get the basic payment. It sounds like they have now raised the levels of where if you want to make $$$ you need to be more active in the partners scheme.

Lol remember when Eklund would make public appearances in disguises like anyone gave a shit about his identity? Those were the days.
I remember when mods defended him in any trade proposal involving his website as if the guy ever came in here. 🤣🤣

The first place I posted on was Hockey Fights then I found out about that site and thought I am way behind in my knowledge compared to this guy. Then I joined HF and still feel the same way.

Shit the married couples do to amuse themselves are right down strange.

Ex-wife #2 and I once a month would have a competition to see who could make the best dinner for the cheapest $. She won when she was able to make a filling dinner for £3.5
