I don’t know why, but I do know the longtime Flyers guy and another longtime blogger left recently. The Flyers guy said (paraphrasing)that the three of them (third being Eklund) did everything and it was too much work.

I got married four years ago, and my wife and I like watching the Devils together.
We both graduated with literature degrees. I read her EK's blogs and we make fun of the typos.
It's one of those small things that we enjoy doing together.

At the 2007 NHL Trade Deadline, Eklund appeared on the Sportsnet broadcast, and he was shot in silhouette, like a mob informant. It looked ridiculous, but the best part was, they went to Eklund and he revealed that according to his sources, Ryan Smyth, one of the biggest trade chips of the deadline, was off the market because he was about to sign a last-minute deal to stay with the Oilers.
They interrupted his "report" with "Breaking news" and the breaking news was Ryan Smyth had been traded to the New York Islanders. They didn't go back to Eklund for the rest of the broadcast after that.

I still check out HockeyBuzz for the jokes, but I’ve noticed his page isn’t as updated and his podcast has also disappeared
Maybe he’s done with it, all things come to an end and I feel like his site probably doesn’t generate the same traffic as it once did

Don't particularly care about hockeybuzz but I enjoyed Eklund as a ridiculous sideshow in the hockey universe. To be fair IIRC he did have some legit Flyers connections from time to time. Would gladly read a let's remember some Eklund stories thread.
