I'm not a big consumer. I usually take months to do research before any major purchase. With that being said Hockeystreams is one of the best purchases I've ever made.

I am a full fledged hockey junkie and HS seems to be the only product that can satiate my fix. I can watch any game from any broadcast and i can watch all the junior and ahl games too. It's pretty remarkable but it doesn't stop there.

They have all their games saved from seasons past so i can go back and watch whomever the flyers drafted and do some research.

They also have non hockey events streaming such as the nfl draft, nba draft, mma fights, and alot of tsn specials that american's aren't privy too.

They also allow you to cancel your membership after the season and you can renew it at the beginning of the seasons so your 12 month membership will only contain months in which hockey games are played. Since im such a supporter of the product I have elected to renew my membership every season anew because they do such a fine job and its a great product.

also forgot to mention that you can watch it on your mobile phone no problem. Just like GCl.

Ok let me get this all straight.....I can dump Verizon Fios since I barely watch TV (apart from HBO b/c of Boardwalk Empire). I can join HS.....buy a chromecast dongle and just watch the Flyers on my HDTV via my smartphone through the dongle? No blackouts to worry about?

Why aren't more people who just want to watch the Flyers broadcasts cutting the (cable) cord?

How much will you save?

I'm pretty happy with my Verizon phone/internet/TV + HBO bundle.

if you are intrested in the flyers and only the flyers and live in the philly area then comcast makes the most sense.

I live outside philly so the only way i can get games are through a package deal either through HS or Center ice/ GCL. Out of those 3 HS is the cheapest and best product.

another nice part of hockeystreams is basicly ZERO delay...

GCL is usualy like 30 secs + delay...sometimes more.

i dont see any reason for anyone to use GCL tbh...their service sucks compared to what hockeystreams provides.

That's my only gripe with GCL. I text my dad throughout the games so he knows not to text me something until a minute after it happens (he has Centre Ice).

As far as the blackouts go, I just download a Firefox add-on that changes my IP address. Works well for the numerous instances where TSN2 picked up the NBCSN feeds.

With respect to archiving, how many years back does it go?

I signed up today. Netflix and hockey streams for me. On to the brave new world.

Does this work on PS4 this coming season? (can't find info on the website)

Or a macbook ? (if anyone uses this setup is it easy to get going?)

Is the stream quality comparable to tv?

Yes, HS is as perfect as online streaming will get. Once in a while the feed will be choppy for a few minutes, but I've never missed enough action to ever be frustrated with their service.

At this point, I have absolutely no idea why someone wouldn't get hockeystreams. It's proven year in and year out to be the best value package for hockey that one can find. They even stream the draft lottery and trade deadline coverage.

The only problem I had with HS was when I used an HDMI cable to connect my comp to my TV before I had the Roku. The feed would be really choppy on the TV, but clear on the comp. My guess is that it had something to do with the HDMI cable/ports, and not the actual site.

I switched from HockeyStreams to Gamecenter a few years ago because HockeyStreams constantly crashed when I streamed live games (never had that problem with Gamecenter).

With the Rogers deal in Canada now, I'm not sure how many games would be blacked out on Gamecenter, so I cancelled my service. I'll give Hockeystreams another shot, probably.

HS used to have massive problems, but in my experience using my brother's account last season they all seemed to be fixed. It streams every league you could want too, it's really a superb service. If they had a PS3/PS4 app then it'd be perfect.

Is HS down right now? I get an error when trying to stream an archived game.

My girlfriend is a huge Flyers fan but we live in Flemington, NJ and there's a strange TV rights thing here. Flemington is technically part of both the Philly and NYC/NJ markets, so we can't get Flyers games on Center Ice or GameCenter since we're "in market", but our Comcast TV signal is run from Hillsborough, NJ which is only in the NYC/NJ market and doesn't get CSN Philly..

So we are basically in a Flyers dead zone and the only way for her to get games on TV was via hockeystreams. We really enjoyed it last season and will purchase the 6-month membership again in early October.. Quality was definitely solid, all games were in full HD and it only paused 2-3 times per game (we don't have a very high internet package though so that could be the reason).. I highly recommend getting it to watch Flyers games
