I will be shocked if anyone trades for him.

People always say this (and I agree he is terrible) but teams always trade a 5th or FC's for guys like this. Lewis is no worse than Nate Thompson was, and the Kings got something for him.

But Lewis is sadly another player the Kings missed the boat on trading, another casualty of the disastrous 2018 season which probably set the Kings rebuild back two full years.

Nate Thompson was much better than the current Lewis.

Better East than West I guess. I’d prefer the lottery to go Kings, Wings, and maybe Sabres or something. Devils have had two first overalls, **** the Rangers, and definitely **** the Ducks. If the Senators are getting two top ten picks, I hope they’re both 6-10.

But that was before they traded Hall. Their luck ended.

Hopefully the Kings stay in the top 5, I'd love to see them get Drysdale, who by reports, is a top all around RHD, with elite skating, great vision, sleet passing and dynamic PP QB.

Lewis needs to be Old Yellered. Someone needs to take him out in the back of the equipment room.

I’d be fine with him continuing to work with the team in some capacity, I just don’t think he’s an NHL player anymore. feelsbad.jpg

But he was a 4th liner on teams that won SC’s eight and six years ago!

But that's not why he's still here. That's why DL re-signed him in June 2016 before he hit the UFA market, but he's still here now because it was a 4 year contract that he signed, and only now is it finally expiring. He would've been gone last year, but he still had term. Who is going to trade for a 4th liner with multiple years left on their contract? Re-signed because of emotion, still here because of cold hard reality.

Last thing this team needs is another guy who couldn’t score in life showing our prospects how not to score in death.

Oh, not on the ice. Nothing on the ice. On second thought, maybe the Ducks could hire him.

It's wild how even Lewis had a career year in back-to-back seasons with 12 goals in 82 games in 2016-17 then followed that up with 14 goals and 26 points in 68 games in 2017-18. And then his numbers come crashing back down to earth the past two seasons, where he's scored 5 goals combined in 84 games.

He turned 33 last month, and his usefulness as an NHL player is clearly behind him. I'd be impressed if Blake can get anything for him.

Another guy held onto too long. Him and Carter should be thanking the gods they've stayed in L.A. as long as they have.

Totally agree, but as many non-scoring good-two-way redundancies we have on our roster, lots of teams are hurting defensively.

I hate to bring him up because it's a different can of worms, but look how long Nick Shore stuck in Toronto literally just to hang out for d-zone faceoffs and be not-a-liability.

And even that "specialty" is just so limiting. A guy like Shore averaged about 9 minutes in Toronto and now with Winnipeg. It's like when the Kings brought in Bob Corkum to do just that, but he was completely useless with the puck. Do players like that prevent enough goals while at the same time balancing it out by chipping in as well?

We know they don't provide a physical presence either, which is something you'd ideally like to have from your bottom six. That's an area the Kings are lacking in.
