OT: Hockey Cards and e-Pack

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.

the white Black RPAs are so slick. I opened some packs and did horribly - salvaged it by trading for Sorokin and Stutzle rc jsy autos though

Ultra popular and kinda scarce insert from the 90s- not sure why PMGs in particular are getting pumped but I'm all for it.

My brother sold a PSA 9 Hulk Green PMG /10 from that 2017 Marvel Fleer Ultra product for $8,000 a couple weeks ago.

Jeez wtf

Checking on ebay, seems like even low end players PMG's sell for decent amounts compared to like every other card that player has lol

Yeah, it's silly. Mostly caused by speculators from other sports entering the hockey card market to buy a familiar insert set. I'm not a buyer at these prices but I'll certainly be trying to make trades for them.

Edit: did it and got a Kaprizov net deposits. Not gonna get my money back but that's not horrible I guess

I didn't open physical because it's easier to trade/move stuff on ePack. Glad I waited because I pulled and sold the Crosby Gold Retro PMG 1/1 yesterday

My brother and I got each other a box of Skybox for Christmas. He got a Kaprizov red PMG while I got a $1 Alec Regula autograph and no PMG.

At least I got Stutzle and Kaprizov redemptions out of the box of artifacts that he also got me.

Opened 2 boxes of Skybox.

Didn't get my money back but should get a small chunk at least.

Best hits were a Shea Theodore green PMG and a Sorokin rubies /50 thing. A few autos, nothing special there tho. Think the Sorokin might be worth more than the Theodore pmg lol

Edit: opened another box and hit a Kopitar green pmg. I mean I'm happy to hit them but would love to hit someone worth something lol

Yeah the Sorokin is nice find, should be the most valuable of the bunch there.

I can't stop hitting /10 cards :laugh:but they're like...not getting my money back type hits

On this one I should hopefully. Opened 5 more packs and hit a Vilardi green rookie auto /10. I'm like having insanely good luck with low numbered pulls but they aren't significant players :laugh:
 
Vilardi is a player that might be worth holding on to. He’s got loads of skill and a rookie auto to 10 might be worth a lot more in a few years than it is today.

Good to hear, I just got his red PMG in a trade lol

I started to collect Vilardi actually a while back but gave up on it

I did 4 of them, ended up with:

- Panarin base yellow
- Weber all-stars black
- Oettinger premium prospects yellow
- Norris retro yellow

Ended up moving all these to chase the McDavid/Matthews-Stutzle/Lafreniere achievements though
