Not sure how much they are making off of their kids leagues. I heard they started up because they had run in with Spruce Grove hockey and Hockey AB/CA. They own the Saints as well and were leading the other teams in running off to the BCHL. I shouldn't have used 'running the BCHL' as that is probably incorrect.

Hockey Canada and the provincial orgs are making the most of the youth hockey.

But I guess that's it. We have no idea how much money they're making (or not). It's a privately held business, they don't need to make their balance sheets public.

Hockey Canada/Alberta and the rest are non-profits. They do have to make their finances public. They are regulated by the government. That's why the entire Board of Directors of Hockey Canada all resigned about two years ago.

I'm not here to badmouth the Silent Ice group. Like I said you have to respect they're investing their own money, and quite a bit of it by the looks of it. They're certainly doing it out of a love of hockey.

But I'm pretty sure they're looking to make a profit on it also.

I have a feeling that they are trying to stick it to Hockey Canada and Hockey Alberta. They are rich enough to do it. Weird how it took so long for the finances to be public, or should we say defined.
