If were going to keep Matthews for 10 more season he should be kept away from Marner until he signs his next contract. Don't pay for a 60 goal center that's actually a 40 goal center with 99% of wingers.

Just speculation on my part, but I would assume it's an injury that just needs pain management and not something that's likely to get worse from playing. A bruised rib from that brutal cross check he took earlier in the season would make sense
