Slovaks play at home, and Russians take dayoff.

Whatever the case may be, sounds like the Slovaks are giving a strong Russian team a good game.

Slovak fans should be proud of the fight in their boys.

6-1 Canada now.

This age group for Canada is the best we’ve had in a few years.

4 min to go in Piestany, shots on goal 31-15 for Slovakia, score 1-1. Slovaks in pressure wanting to take the win.

Keep grinding.

The Russians have a good team, this would be a huge win for Slovakia.

7-1 win for Canada.

Czechs weren’t even close to being on the same level just like the Swiss and Finns weren’t.

It’s not the wins and the scores that I’m impressed with the most it’s the style of play. They’re playing the proper Canadian wave after wave relentless nonstop attack.

They just absolutely are suffocating the opposing teams.

Russians take the win in OT 2-1.

Great group stage results for Slovakia nonetheless, loosing to 2:3 to Sweden, 3-4ot to USA, and 1-2OT to Russia, being on the same level as all three teams, surprisingly even dominating the Russians in the last game and being a bit unlucky. This generation has a lot of potential, feels great to be on par with the top nations.

Very good results for Slovak hockey.

Byfield!! 2-0

You picture this kid with his size filled out and man strength and his overall game and skill level, natural centre. Could be quite a package, Alexis Lafreniere....................it's not in the bag yet.

Byfield looks like he could be in the NHL right now.

It’ll be Lafreniere-Byfield at 1-2 but holy **** Byfield is an absolute monster and plays a hockey IQ 200 foot game. He’s a special player.

Simon nemec has played unreal. Slovaks lack killer instinct, but that’s in our DNA (no offence to us). Chromiak and Myklukha both played solid as well, while lasak showed he can play a top 6 role in team. I was so happy with the skating ability of forwards, especially Kaslik (man can he fly). Very proud of the Slovak boys. Both goalies have looked good as well. Latkoczy looks like a legit star, I wish him great success in the ushl next year.

Yep the skating stood out the most, they were flying and skating on par or better than the opponents.

Byfield is a joy to watch in person. Cant wait for the OHL season to start.

He sure looks good doesn't he?

Lafreniere has some stiff competition for that 1OA. full disclosure, I'm not really the biggest booster of Lafreniere, I'd prefer the skilled 6'5 220 lb. center who plays a 200 ft. game over a winger all day everyday. but for now, until I see about 30 games of Byfield in the new season, it's still Lafreniere holding down the the #1 spot.
