  • Xenforo Cloud is upgrading us to version 2.3.11 on Monday July 20, 2026 at 12:00 AM PST. Expect a temporary downtime during this process. More info here
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
I wonder if Tampa lands Werenski if Carlson would be open to a big money, short term deal out west after all? Or, the more fun idea of landing Hedman to mentor our kids. Can’t imagine he’d want to play third pairing minutes.

So many interesting things can happen today even under the assumption we don’t land any of the big fish. A lot could trickle down.

I have a weird feeling we might see someone we don’t want to see traded today (like Graf or Dickinson). But Grier built up so much good will with this draft that I believe in GMMG.

He’s going to Carolina not Tampa.

The Andersson deal for VGK is a good one. Maybe 1-2M cheaper than market. Obviously more moves coming for VGK to get cap compliant.

Nothing too shocking so far...

Now this is literally cap circumvention.
Was thinking the same thing.

He’s going to Carolina not Tampa.
What makes you think that? Because they traded for his rights? I noticed he hasn’t signed yet. From the sounds of it, not all players like the idea of playing for Rod the Bod. I feel like if he was going to sign in Car, I would have happened by now. We’ll see.

All this talk of bringing in some size for our forward group, what would you guys think of bringing Hertl home as a cap dump?

The one thing I kinda like is that the sharks cup window is opening in 2-3 years time. That should be right about when florida and VGK are finding their contract situations to be difficult. it's clear that those two are really loading up for the next couple years.

years is too long. If he has just 2 years left, maybe. he also just doesnt fit the team need. We are pretty set at F, and VGK is not gunna add sweeteners. They will find takers for HIll, pietrangelo, or W Karlsson and be fine.

Personally, if VGK was willing to add a sweetener (even just a 3rd round pick), pietrangelo would be a nice acquisition. If he remains on IR, you get a 3rd for useless cap space. If he plays, he's a great vet leader for a young team. But whatever, none of this is on the docket. No chance the sharks make any of these kind of moves now...
