Hey everybody. There's always variations of these every year on this site. The idea is to try to reach a consensus for who each team might pick would the fans of that team be in control.

This does not take into account any previous polls before it. Only the results of this poll will affect the numbers going forward.

Here are the results of the one I set up last season: http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showthread.php?t=2095661&highlight=

There's around a month & a half left until the draft, so there will be 48 hours for the first 20 picks, and 24 hours for every pick after that. Obviously, we're only looking for the fans of each team to vote on their pick. This also assumes no trades will be made between picks.

Rangers fans, you have the 21st overall pick!

*Took away a tie-breaking vote because they weren't a fan of the team.

This is gonna be a Brannstrom blowout, so I'm voting for Josh Norris out of spite.

I'm very tempted by Jokiharju, Thomas, and Brannstrom here. Ultimately, I think Kostin is the BPA in this spot. If a top 10 talent in this draft slipped to 21, I'd take that all day and every day.

To me Kostin is where you most swing for the fences. Talent, skating, size, physical game. If he pans out he's got it all. I kind of have the idea that if he weren't Russian and he didn't have a major injury last year he might be in the top 5 and would almost surely be in the top 10. Brannstrom would be a great pick too but there is a decent chance he drops to us anyway. He's never really been top 10 material in this draft.

I think it's ironic that people are so happy the Rangers have a 1st round pick and they want to risk it on the guy with the major shoulder injury. I don't care about the Russian things but shoulder injuries scare me.

That being said if Brannstrom wasn't on the board I would be looking very hard at Kostin. Thomas is a guy I would look at too. Guys like him tend to rise.

you draft the best hockey player available. period.

thats kostin. he's got the measurables, the talent, the motor and the developed 2 way game that most scorers lack. he's big and will get bigger, he's a dangerous offensive player and from all reports, a dependable kid with a great attitude and work ethic that never quits.

hes also got sick skills. he's a prospect with alot to like. i love the thought of kostin and buchy together.

you want a guy who might be an erik karlsson type player, take brannstrom.

if you want to go big and draft a kid who is a sure fire top 6 forward. thats kostin.

assuming the shoulder is 100% repaired, you take this kid everytime. he's a true blue chip offensive goal scorer.

Shoulders and hips are notoriously hard injuries and I'm not rolling the dice on that over a safe dman like Brannstrom. But I would not be unhappy with Kostin either.

No player picked outside the top-5 is a sure fire top-6 forward.
