Yeah, that one's wild, and not always in a good way.

I liked Poor Things, but I'll admit, I'm a sucker for artsy reasons to watch an attractive woman get it on.

We saw Poor Things at Row House Cinema in Lawrenceville. I knew it was a Frankenstein-esque movie. My wife knew nothing about it. Not sure how much everyone else in the packed theater knew of it. What an experience.

Yeah, I had a similar experience seeing it at a film festival here. Amazing.

Someone I knew at the screening brought their grandmother.

Happy solstice to everyone!

@Ogrezilla
Oh happy day!
1.5 years.
300 (298) hours! (12 complete days)
2 computers (old and then new)

I've finally joined the ranks of those completing BGIII
I've gotta say though, I killed all the evil people in the game world and my ending was kind of blah to be honest. 300 hours I'd've expected a bit more with all those choices etc.
Letdown also connected to the several months interruption switching machines and losing the flow.

How was your ending? (if you remember details)...

It was alright but I definitely did not do everything. But it was good for the folks I used in my team all game.

At this point I'm waiting for the new subclass patch and maybe even on more mods before I play through again.

I'm not much for modern anime but DanDaDan is something else. It's about two high school kids, one believes in aliens and the like. While the other believes in ghosts and spirits. I'm only four episodes in but it's been a wild ride.

For years and years I've considered watching Attack on Titan but haven't. Maybe I will after DDD.

@HandshakeLine it's a 1978. I think there's a good chance the top is actually sycamore and not maple as Greco used that for their tops quite a bit during this era and it doesn't quite have the look of maple to me but I could be wrong haha

EDIT: It also has the "pancake" mahogany body like a Gibson would from this time period. And interestingly to me at least... an ABR-1 bridge. But no volute. They were made in two different factories at the time... Matsumoku and FujiGen. This is a FugiGen which I was kinda pumped about as that factory has a pretty distinguished history of churning out some super nice instruments.

This pic shows the pancake construction along with the only real damage on the guitar. Which I honestly kinda like. Most of my other guitars are too clean haha

I don't mind the soft case it came with but I'm getting this thing a nice HSC and strap locks. Light for a LP though... probably 7.5ish. Suspect some kind of chambering going on under the top but I won't know for sure until I have it apart. Some quick and dirty research seems to indicate that the whole pickup cavity region is hollowed out and the top is "floating" above it so it'll be interesting to have a look. It definitely sounds super loud and resonant unplugged much like my fully chambered 95 Studio Lite. The Maxons in this thing sound terrific... they are PAF ripoffs but high quality ones. Neck position in particular on this guitar is devine with the tone rolled off a tad.

Yeah, damn you cleaned up with that one Willy. Like I said, those Maxons are awesome and probably worth a pretty chunk of change on their own.

I didn’t even realize it was a lawsuit until I looked at it again after you posted!

Yeah I got lucky... had a friend of a friend sell it to me for under market. Or in other words what it is probably REALLY worth lol

It's all original from what I can tell. Except for maybe the guard which appears slightly less aged but that can just happen organically, too.

Yeah pretty wild how absolutely spot-on it is. I have gotten really good at spotting fakes... Chibsons and the like... these are basically 1:1. I can see why they got in trouble state-side. They really are made at least to the same quality spec. Hell if anything this guy maybe plays/sounds better than my two "real" LPs.

It’s honestly better made than most Norlin era Gibsons and probably as valuable. I have a ‘74 J-50 that I love but only because it was my dad’s guitar, it’s a dog by most other measures.

Oh man I've always wanted a J-45 or a J-50.

Yeah while I don't hate on Norlin era as much as some it was... uneven. I have played amazing 70s Gibsons but I have also noticed it seems to be the era that consistently has the most lemons, too. Even over the 2015-2020ish era.

I've never ever been a headstock gazer. Gibson and Fender make trash, too... just less often and for 2000+ dollars as opposed to like 500 dollars. It's just that I love my LPs and my only alternative to Gibson is Epiphone. And every Epi I've personally played has been nasty, So I've always been drawn to the lawsuit guitars. Unfortunately in recent years everyone has picked up on this little hack, too... so they are really climbing in price. Burnys, Tokais and Corts, too.
