1Yeah I think I'll need to play smarter and rely less on brute force for sure. So far all I've fought are the little brain crabs and imps from the intro place and right after landing on the beach. But the brain things can spit at me now. I haven't noticed a difference in targeting since I've only done the very intro, but that's what I read.

2yeah I'm planning on being sort of in the middle evil this playthrough. Not evil, but less noble too. Take more payment for things, tell people I'll help as long as it is worth it for me etc. I'm playing a Tiefling Bard, so I do plan to see how much I can talk my way out of etc. I am already really good at deception, persuasion, intimidation etc. That said, I think relying too much on that could end up getting me less XP, so we'll see  Part of why I'm doing Tiefling though is to give me a good reason at the grove to fully side with them and kill the druid leader woman. Last time I convinced her to give me more time instead.

3 Party will be the Bard, Laezel as her normal fighter, but I think I'm going to turn Astarian into a ranger and Karlach into a monk. Or maybe the other way around, we'll see. But I don't want to do another barbarian so I'm definitely changing Karlach. We'll see about changing Astarian from Rogue, I may end up keeping it. But Bards are already really good at most of the skill stuff Rogues do, and I think I'd like a few spells and maybe an animal friend with my archer

4Just doing the normal custom character version, see how different that is from the dark urge. I plan on my third playthrough being Dark Urge again and as evil as can be, giving in to the urge every time it comes up  As the Oathbreaker paladin. As for my party in that, well I'm not sure how much of a party I'll have or if I'll just murder them all
1Spitting brains... oh my! =]
2 I am what you describe as middle evil now, I will say, it is not enough... I need more evil =]
tiefling bard, yeah, you won't be the one doing the fighting, or will you I have no clue how that class works. Deception persuasion AND intimidation... that is the whole kit and caboodle there for successful dialog haha... you can always shapeshift into a tiefling for their part in the grove. But they do get screwed by her and I'd've definitely assassinated that psycho for the way she handled everything before during and after... plus those tieflings are like cattle... free them one place they get held up just down the road by more misery... reminds me of GRIM DAWN... the world was so evil with all the suffering... rambling...
3. Karlach MONK! Sounds interesting! She's a tank, so she'd be a tank / healer? Ranger is nice and so is the animal. I have a bear but he always freaks out townies... so I park him like a vehicle outside. =P (Unless I need to lure / chase away the bear and serial murder an area ==P) Never played or had a bard... clueless here to what they do. I see the gear with the spells etc, but not in action.
4. Sounds exciting! Same here hahaha... sounds so fun and make for good stories! haha...

I play mostly Wordle and Forza Horizon these days.
Nothing wrong with those ..

--------
Maybe as well make it a mega post.
(add) @Randy Butternubs ... watched MOTHER last night (2009) and it is good.... can even see Bong's mind in there.... but personally a far cry from Memories Of Murder.

---
Going to watch another one, THE HOST tonight... also Bong.

Bard is pretty well rounded. Very good at the social stuff and a lot of support and crowd control magic. Then their three subclasses give them something extra. I plan to go Lore since I will be the only main caster, along with a ranger. They can also boost the rolls of other teammates without spells. So kind of cleric-like, but less armored and better at social stuff and things like picking locks and traps. Plus they're not all goddy and whatnot, just trying to make a good song or story

Lore gives spells from other classes, so typically more offensive magic. Still limited, but more than they normally have. Will let me have Fireball
Valor gives a shield, medium armor, and an extra attack. So more of a front line mage, kind of like a cleric I guess.
Swords gives them even more melee offense, but without the extra armor and shield. So it's more like a melee rogue I guess but with magic? I don't exactly know.

Monks are absolutely NOT healers in DnD. They are offensive melee. Very mobile, can stun enemies and can attack like 4 times a turn. And they punch a lot

yeah I'm looking forward to that one, but wanted to do the higher difficulty and I'm not sure the version where I may kill all of my friends at any moment is the time for that

We made the decision to get game pass this past summer mostly for my 14 year old to play games with his school buds, I've been enjoying the access to some oldies and lately have been playing the ORIGINAL Amnesia. It's fairly dated but can still be decently creepy, it's been fun.
Xbox Game pass is superior to that dipshit ps+ or whatever sony wants to call that half assed dollar store game pass wannabe service.

Frasier continuance - I don't know what to make of this show. I love the original, it's my fav show of all time.

But Freddie being this completely different person vs what he was in the original Frasier even as a kid, it's a completely different character with no traces of the original Frederick.

David, Niles & Daphne's kid - He's a good version of both, no complaints there.

Alan - He's kind of a mix of a bunch of Frasier characters to balance out the characters. He's kind of a mix of Martin, Niles, Bulldog, and Roz in some ways. Although, Olivia is more of a Roz/Bulldog type.

The only person that does not make sense to me in the spirit of the original show is Freddy, just an episode in though but this is an established world from Cheers to Frasier.

Was just going to say, saw this randomly as an advert and thought, ohhhh nooooo.... they didn't go on with the show, did they!? THEY DID!!!!

We've talked before about Frasier... I just don't think I can watch it... coming from the mullet days of late 80's and the whole attitude / feel of the show I just don't think I can see todays rendition of his life, especially without NONE of the other cast? (I don't know personally)

If it is good, maybe down the line.... but not now, I just couldn't....

1 haha... that can be a very different take on the game. Sounds fun.

3. OH! haha... That is the total opposite of what I thought they were. But that sounds really cool to strategize with.

4. Haha... I agree, have to be prepared to go the evil route.... or not, but IMOO I'd rather capitalize on the mayhem with a proper build geared towards it (mayhem and evil =])

Now that I have selune's blessing (and by association my summon/pet) so my raven is now free to explore the shadow lands and, my goodness is it a big, craggily shaped area.... not to mention a whole town with awesome architecture across the river or chasm to the west - south west. Lot of ambush needlers and big giant tree folk. I thought I'd lost my need for the exterminators axe (1d4+ fire damage to plants) but on the contrary! This map will take up quite some time, not to mention maps inside buildings, caves, or whatevers...

yeah act 2 has two fairly big interior places that I remember. Though it doesn't have the whole other world map like the underdark was for act 1.

Bard seems fun so far, but I'm still not far. I found Withers and just got to the gate of the grove. Haven't gone in yet though. So far I think the difficulty increase and my understanding of the game have largely cancelled eachother out because it doesn't seem that hard, but I am also playing smarter.

1 True. Still surprisingly large.
2. True. Ever since I picked up the 'feel' of the game and identified enemies that you can't talk out of fighting (shadows or animals etc) I really pound and attack most enemies / groups with surprise and 4 sneak attacks (from detaching and sneaking party)... it'd take just massively OP opponents with high rolls everytime or less of us in a party to really be in danger.
Not that it isn't fun and still challenging. I'd have to slip up big time, but even with misses and stuff, I'm so hard hitting and even well padded against crits and hard hits because if you hit me you get damaged or prone... I like it though. I felt scrubby and inexperience at first... now as the story says, really am discovering the (illithid) power in me.

I get the we value your privacy pop up constantly on hfboards since a few weeks/months even. Problem is when I am supposed to click agree to x/y cookies it simply wont go away like it does on all the other websites if you agree to the cookies. I think that I am fairly good in using and navigating through the internet but on hfboards it just does not work. Doesn't matter if its on pc/mobile or if I use another browser. Any solutions? Makes this side unusable for me.

@LOGiK - Ah, Freddie is sort of supposed to be like Martin, basically the same episode when Martin moves in and brings his easy chair for the second episode.
I will be impartial to anything they do... Fraiser was a natural and flowing continuation.
This ... and I am sure I won't be able to stop doing it, but I bet it won't flow and they will get details wrong or they wont be able to fix a detail that isn't fixable.
I'm too picky... I couldn't watch and enjoy.

But I know you also love the (original) show, so let me know if you do finish please=]

Check the support forum. That would have the best answers. Can post there as well and an admin will look at it.

My buddy has a PS5 and we're looking to play Twisted Metal 2 on it together. Has anyone tried that game?
I remember It sucked after the first one. Kind of lost the charm of the way the first one was with too many gimmicky new additions to the game. But it's been a very long time since I played it, could be fun now.

See I thought TM 1 was kind of clunky and was a bit mediocre.
TM 2 was what hooked me and my best friend on it. We played it in the dorm room for endless hours and would have tournaments with the guys down the hall. So many wasted hours

We were stoked when TM3 came out. Well it was a major dud and after that we never bought another game in the series.

I remember the tournament style in TM2 was just pure chaos. It was fun at times but also just a tad too much most of the time and the characters didn't feel as balanced in comparison and I vaguely recall the power ups etc being not my jam. But I guess I should check it out again, might be into it now.

Same. Played countless hours with the first one. Can't even remember after that. And I've played them. So...
Not sure it was a game to make it into the next era of gaming. Sort of like Demolition Derby. Great game then... today... hell... I'd still play it, but... not a big demand for it I suppose. Though games kind of similar exist.
-----
add:
Hey hog.. you mentioned futurama before, the restart... the re-re-start... I'm watching the series through... 1-5 were good, not fleshed out much givin the big cast of characters. 5 is the first restart, a full order of episodes finally, 20 something (as opposed to 13 or so), and it is using much more of the cast... I liked every episode of 1-5. season 6 some I'm not too fond of but the good ones, I really like. How is the new set of episodes?

I prefer Twisted Metal 2 over 1, but I also played 2 first so I'm sure that's part of it. I believe 2 isn't as well balanced honestly, a few of them were plain bad. But back then that didn't bother me, just don't play those cars unless you're trying to prove you can win with worse characters

I actually really liked Twisted Metal Black for PS2. It was my first online console game and it was super fun with 8 player games. Pure free for all deathmatch, no way to communicate, just playing vs people instead of bots was great back before the people could speak  I have played all of them up to Black. 3 and 4 weren't as good, but I still had a good time playing them with friends.

I would kill for a good new version of that game. I don't need a lot of crazy features, just simple car battles with fun characters. It honestly shocks me it never got made into a battle royale game like fortnite. That's not what I want them to make, but I'm surprised they didn't.

Aside from demo kiosks I played TM2 first so my opinion is heavily flavored by that...but I never found TM1 to be enjoyable. TM1 felt ancient before it was a year old. TM2 was probably the game I played the most with my childhood best friend. That was the multiplayer game we played for a solid 3-4 years.

Black is the only other one in the series I'll acknowledge and is just about the only thing from that era of edgey try-hard bollocks I don't look back at with scathing contempt.

To be fair, TM2 hasn't exactly aged gracefully either...but that's primarily because of it predating the PlayStation's DualShock controller. TM1 just felt unwieldy...like most early 3D games. There's not much from the first year of the PlayStation I'd save in a fire.

Yeah twisted metal is right there with tekken and dynasty warriors for my most played multiplayers games with my best friend from back then.

I certainly don't have enough knowledge or memory about it to have a realistic opinion but I definitely remember this being a thing, the entire 6th floor of Sproul Hall at PSU playing expansive TM2 tournaments. I think back then we basically had to use the campus ethernet to set it up as a LAN party, more or less.

We played a good bit of twisted metal black 4 player my freshman year in our lobby. College gaming was the best. We just set up in the main lobby freshmen year and random people came and joined different games and that’s how we made friends  I’m sure it also repelled some folks from us but if gaming is a problem then I guess that’s for the best. Hell watching office space in the lobby is where I met my wife

yeah that looks fun. I love Mario games, though I've started wishing they were a bit more challenging. Still always well designed games though.
