Which game is this?

I recently decided to play this refreshed version of Gears of War and got my ass handed to me on the highest difficulty which I used to be very good at. I’m 5mins into this game and on my 20th try thinking f*** this shit, the game is the problem, not me!
Currently Hollow Knight. You lose your money etc too.

I don’t have a problem when it’s designed as a single big encounter and doing it all together is the point. But this is just pointless walking back with essentially zero challenge and no relevance to the boss fight.

Yeah I had already completed the story part of HK and was just exploring. Then I got killed in a beehive, lost a whole bunch of money, and then stopped playing it altogether.

Hollow Knight was interesting at first, but I spent I think 2hrs one night playing it and I had no f***ing clue what the point was, I basically kept going back to the same areas and trying to see if there was something I was missing and just gave up on it entirely. I spent a total 30hrs on that game and 26hrs were spent on trying to figure out what the f*** the objective was.

Part of it is I definitely rushed right into the game, didn't really allow myself to let the game sink in, just went off trying to play it and I should give it a proper go.

I started it once a few years ago. The save file says just under two hours, so I figured I'd start again here. So I got to this boss and died. Probably 3 or 4 minutes to walk back, not the end of the world I guess, but then I died again and had to do it again so I just quit. Save file is at the exact same spot as the one from a few years ago it turns out

I don't know what the point is, but I generally like these kinds of games. I love Metroid and the Ori games. This one seems good but I don't need this annoyance.

Reminds me of first playing Demons Souls way back in 09. Didn't get it at first but a few years later the Souls games clicked for me and been a fan since. Guess I needed the masochist in me to awaken
I've played 3 or 4 of these games for a couple of hours each and just quit every time. They have some of what I'm talking about with redoing stuff, but also I just really find the combat in them boring. It just feels very slow and clunky. I like hard games, but these ones just don't work for me.

Sorry to hear mate. I know he’s gone through a lot and so have you with taking care of him. Just enjoy whatever time you have with your Dad, right?
All the nurses and all the home care team have told me how good of a job I've done, apparently it's super rare family helps out. I'm all ready prepared for this, although you never can be.

Finished my first re-watch of Adventure Time last night. Great show with some surprisingly touching moments. Sooooo many characters. Will watch again. And I don't really re-watch shows. Helps they're just 10 minute episodes. But, like, 200 of them?

Hard times coming up...dad ready for hospice, he's ready to go now. Things are going to change.

Ugh, so sorry to hear that. I know I'm going to be an absolute mess when my parents go downhill. Sending virtual hugs.

BMO was always great. I 3D printed one with a digital alarm clock screen where her face would be (just used a travel one off Amazon), for a mate, his gf was a fan of the show and BMO as well. I liked Adventure time for the Scrubs thing where they hit you with hijinx and then bam, feels.

Just saw that Genevieve O'Reilly was in Revenge of the Sith as Mon Mothma but they cut most of the senate plot and all of her scenes.

1. It's cool that they went back to her for Rogue One and then Andor.
2. Mon Mothma as a character surely turned out much better at this point being more or less a blank slate pre Andor than if we got RotS quality writing for more senate intrigue.

@Buddy Bizarre did you buy any Mycolean? And any suggestions for other alcohol alternatives?

I like my edibles but don't like that they give me the munchies.
I’ve probably gotten to deep into the higher THC stuff. I’ve started micro dosing 5mg edibles. You don’t get as much of the munchies. You also don’t get the intoxication though.

I’ve read Mycolean is a scam but don’t know anything about it.

Mycolean certainly works for me. What were you reading that says it's a scam?

Google searched a couple articles.

Edit: looks like there is just a wide variety of providers that range from snake oil to legit. Might look into it myself.

Its effectiveness on me really depends on how much food I have in my stomach. I should also make sure I shake the bottles to ensure it is mixed and nothing has separated -- did not do that a few times and had some extremes. Either I barely felt it (if at all) or took way too much.

My ADD strikes again: I completely forgot you sent me that link.
My wife and I will be ordering some tonight and will let you know the results.

And I too hate the munchies side effect...I'm blowing up. Probably around 210- the heaviest I've been in my life

Star Wars was something that always seemed way more interesting when there was that drought of “canon” material between Return of the Jedi and the prequels. Now we’ve got prequel series to the prequels.

Some original stories not connected to the main characters were cool like Knights of the Old Republic. But this obsession with giving an official prequel back story to every single movie character or subplot just took all the magic out of it for me.

I do like the idea of original unconnected stories, but we don't seem to be getting them. Mando was that until it wasn't, and I do agree it is worse for it. So in theory I agree. But really it's just that so much of it isn't very good that hurts it for me.

IMO the three best SW things to come out since the originals all fall in that category: Clone Wars, Rogue One, and Andor. A prequel we didn't need with a prequel series, and a cartoon that fills the gap between two prequels.

Also I will say my favorite thing about Rogue One after just rewatching it is just how ridiculous it makes Leia acting like she's just on some senate diplomacy mission in the original movie
