OT: HFPens Community Lounge: Everyone was forced outside to touch real grass during the HF crash of 2025 edition

Yeah, it was a wild ride last night. Zoe was born at 12:01 a.m. after an emergency c-section, but all is well. She and mama are resting up, I got sent home to get some sleep and shower, will be back today to start my 14 days of paternity leave
Congratulations. Love the name too.

Congratulations @HandshakeLine!

I'm never planning on having kids, but if I ever had a girl Zoe would be my #1 choice. I love that name.

On the forever single side of things, I just won a crane game for the first time ever so f*** yinz jagoffs.

I love how the figure looks utterly bemused. The point isn't what I won, I'm giving that to one of my nephews, just that I ended a lifelong 0-fer. I felt lucky so I played some sort of lottery thing and won a large figure of...something...I don't f***ing know. Again, nephews getting it, I'm just happy that they're getting something better than Hatsune Miku gacha keychains this time...and that I can retire from crane games forever.

I did skip going to see the Saitama Lions comfortably beat the Chiba Marines because of post-rain pain, so I'll take the wins when I can get them.

Off to Nagoya tomorrow and then Ghibli Park the day after. I'm just hoping for good weather. This trip has been a reminder of why I live in a near-desert. Every step feels like someone swung the broadside of an axe at my kneecaps. Japan is worth the pain, though.

Is marvel just giving up on making even average movies now? Thunderbolts such a bad rip off of their previous shit but with exhausting shticks and dialogue. Then the preview for F4, it's like when things bad and you figure ok let's just keep going it'll get better and I just doesn't anymore.
Not limited to just Marvel. I saw a test screening from a major studio doing a super hero show(cant go into specifics due to NDA) but it was the quality of 2012 Arrow from the CW.

On top of quality, Disney/Marvel probably just needs to take a break due to the political winds domestically right now. Maybe take a queue from their stagnation in the 70s and mid 80s and do non-genre type stuff in the meantime.

How about no more superhero shit ever? Please? I didn't have an opinion on it until Disney bought Marvel, now I want the entire genre to die a painful death.

Point is Disney is the f***ing worst. Take something vaguely interesting and grind it down until there's nothing left. Then blame fans for not buying shit and never touch the property/genre again. The actual worst company in the world, no I am not bitter that my entire career path was eaten up by those f***ing dimwits shut up.

Also give me back the f***ing Muppets you f***ing cretins.

That Daredevil show was so overhyped with the return. I liked the first season but it just got so repetitive and then it comes back and it’s basically the same shit over again. Hawkeye was a fun show, even Winter Soldier’s show with Falcon was good. But the movies - Brave whatever was boring, Thunderfarts* was just an epic dud but it was slightly better than the other shit shows they’ve put out so it got hyped to shit. I keep seeing the promos for Fantastic Four and I honestly couldn’t give a shit about it. It’s like oh hey a 3rd retry and another cast that Marvel had for a brief moment in an alt time line which was actually interesting and right into a circle jerk of “let’s take as many hot right now actors and pray they come to see them and don’t focus too much on how awful our plots are.”

I’m guessing you’re talking about Greenlantern, you are not going to make me feel down on that one mate. I’m looking forward to Superman and the final instalment of Mission Impossible. I might even be curious about Jurassic Park finally doing it right with a more horror feel to the movie like the book was.

But Marvel? That machine needs an engine swap. Star Wars is an even bigger mess, absolute tragedy what Disney did to that.

I won two out of the 6 tries in Japan and was like “ok this is fine, I didn’t try a ton of times and fail” and then there’s my wife, 0/20 lol.

They are such a scam. Gotcha whatever’s and those damn gotcha or crane things that are money laundering joints for sure.

Take breaks. I got some good insoles I threw into my shoes and they helped a ton. I think we averaged close to 15k+ kms of walking per day, I stopped checking at one point. Hit up a lot of massage joints for the legs and feet.

I miss all the ways to eat Wagyu. Hope you’re having a blast with the food too mate.

I see the corporate buyers are in Pittsburgh now. Three times I’ve been outbid now. This time after going $30,000 over asking.

Looks like you can say good bye to affordable housing here as well.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. I got lucky with mine after being outbid on a number of houses.

What areas are you looking to buy in?

If BP is getting unaffordable, for whatever reason, is not a good sign.
The one was listed at $390,000, and went for around $420,000. The other was $340,000. I don’t know what it went for but we went $370,000 and the winning one was way above with no contingencies.

Both had 9 bidders after 24 hours.

I have an aunt that's lived in the same BP house for like 40-50 years, so I'm biased, but I never expected any property in that area to ever go that high.

Yeap dipped my toes into the house buying waters this year and noped out after seeing some ridiculous offers. And this is in bumf*ck PA
