just finished book 1. Retroactive less puppy murder is goodI will say, in a very non spoilery way, that the rate of puppy murders does in fact go way down.

Very good book.

Im slowly getting rid of yall one by one. This place seems so empty
Nope. Mods dont have ads running unless we are testing stuff.
I just finished 'the idiot' by dostoyevsky... kind of a sad one start to finish.Caught up a bunch of TV the last two weeks.
Severence S2 was good. Not as good as S1, but good. I think I mentioned that I was happy they were pacing faster than I expected. Then immediately after that they really really didn't
White Lotus S3 was fine. Certainly didn't match S1 or 2 though.
Daredevil Born Again is pretty good. Not as good as the Netflix show, but better than I expected.
Also @LOGiK the Baldur's Gate 3 final patch with new subclasses just came out. Between that and mods being well established, I think it's time for another run.
I havent heard of anything being changed with the ads. But a lot of that is beyond even the local admins control.OK. I logged in this morning for the first time since friday and now even my ad defenses have been rendered useless.
That sucks. May still be worth the experience though, I am sure there will be a lot of unique things happening. We had tickets to go to the Vatican on Wednesday but...
I read much dumber stuff than dostoyevskyI just finished 'the idiot' by dostoyevsky... kind of a sad one start to finish.
Starting either A Connecticut Yankee In King Arthurs Court - Twain
-or-
The Last Continent - (discworld book #5 or 6 out of 42 or so) Pratchett

I see BGIII getting update after update after update and just reading the update notes leads me to believe I'd hardly recognize the game.....
I suppose I can go again (playing KCD2 now) and try for all the quests I just couldn't finish due to burnout.
I wonder how much could possibly change.... that is the bit pulling me into a replay most of all! That and playing total opposite of what I was before.
Did you start yet? You are more in game season than I am, with you heading into winter solstice and me heading into summer solstice....
1 Best part of reading is, read what you want. Sometimes I like tough books, sometimes I enjoy simple books. Thing with discworld is... 40 some books, yet you do not have to read 40 something books to get the ending... that I know of. Each book starts and finishes a story in the world. More specific, there are what, five or so series... each with five or six-ish books so it seems less intimidating. Plus they are very easy reads and pretty small in comparison to, say 600 pages of a larger novel. *discworld books are almost pocket sized*1I read much dumber stuff than dostoyevskyDiscworld seems cool there's just so damn much of it though.
2I haven't started another BG3 yet. I just reinstalled and updated, and found a few mods. Mostly to make the inventory UI better. But there is one that lets you use more party members and some that change difficulty. I'm considering going for a bigger party and also harder, but I'll see what I end up doing.
3Also no I'm in Pittsburgh, it is going into summer here too. But I actually feel like it's a decent game for short sessions and gaps in play, at least now that it's a second playthrough. Being able to save any time even mid fight is nice.

oh that's right I do think you told me that they aren't all a big fully connected series, so they actually have endings. That would certainly help. I assume it still makes sense to just read them in order if I decide to check them out?1 Best part of reading is, read what you want. Sometimes I like tough books, sometimes I enjoy simple books. It would be fun, I need to look in to how well it works before I actually decide. The people that make the party size mod also make a difficulty scaling mod it looks like. I will need to see if that part is updated for the new patch.2 That sounds fun. More party members would be great - more story - more interacting. Does it cause a problem with interacting among the party at all? I think they all get along -- I played Mount and Blade 2 bannerlord since and I'm confusing the party members in that game - some refuse to get along with other different minded people. ie, evil and scheming / more lenient and forgiving will clash.
And yes, it will be more easier having extra attacks per round with more members, so you'll need to up the difficulty (but it can also get TOO difficult! haha)
3 oh... why do i always think you are in Australia. Yet you say Pittsburgh time and time again. I'm getting ollllllllllllllllld =/
yes... it is a good game where you can drop and pickup from a spot at any moment.
I don't normally replay games, but they really put out the updates and endings/story updates/class updates and the whole of the game really... plus I already wanted to be an evil paladin heh....
How big is it now with the updates installed? What class are you going for this time... class / sub class.
game catchup is a losing battle for sure. I've never played any of those games but they all look great.(I wanted to finish KCD2, maybe play KCD1 again (i never finished completely). Play TLOU1 again (did finish) and play TLOU2 (never played) and also play STALKER2 at some point. There is literally no time to do any of that and adding BGIII in there.... those are all 60+ hour games TLOU being the exception... I'm set for years on games

Readers can be a hella bunch of snooty bastards.... so this post gave me a good laugh and I have never known there was a book thread at hfb... what don't they have here. I always use good reads when I'm trying to find a book (or here, pixie gave me master and the margarita *which was excellent*).100 percent. I don't know if you've ever looked at the book thread down in the entertainment forum but that is some intimidating shit. They all reading wartime docuseries and world leader biographies and I'm sitting here like...."uuuuuh I read Locke Lamora again guys. Guys?"
I will admit publicly (no mocking) that my current audio book intake is an attempt to listen to most of the Bible. I expect I'll skip Psalms and Proverbs, maybe some of the others. Regardless if you come at it as a faith reading or a fiction, I think it's worthwhile to go through periodically.

I do think party members interact but I don't think there's any combos that just don't work because they hate each other too much. But I've only used a few so I could be wrong.
3we have some aussies here but I'm not one of them.
4Man picking what to play is probably the hardest part of the game
BG3 looks to be 148 GB now.

I ended up finding a chair at Staples that I like far more than the previous expensive chair I had for less than half the price.I need a new office chair / gaming chair, whatever... but I use it for several things so a good one is importunate.... as the price is just ridiculous. 500 - 1000 dollars for a CHAIR!?
I was looking secret something... labs i think... they have a good product? Or does anyone know of a basic 100 dollar plain ordinary regular chair that doesn't cost worth a used vehicle?
Same... I have an office chair from the BX when I was in the military. 13... 14 years old... Literally falling apart, arm support broke off a year ago but it largely unaffected the chair... seat material is cracking and pretty worn to the point it'll give you a sore hinder, no lumbar support (upgraded with a house pillow (works fine tho =])) and it is just time for an upgrade.I ended up finding a chair at Staples that I like far more than the previous expensive chair I had for less than half the price.
does your chair have a name/brand?
Is it a racey chair? I'm not too fond of those but... a good many are those race buckets....
eh.
That is virtually the same exact chair I have now... at least in looks. The front part of the arm rest the arcs down is what broke, heh.
oh I just googled the number it has on the back and linked what came upThat is virtually the same exact chair I have now... at least in looks. The front part of the arm rest the arcs down is what broke, heh.
Look at that monster of a url you linked...
That has tracking information in it. Look into the browser extension ClearURLS. (eliminates tracking in urls)
That clean link would be:
h t t p s: / / www.staples.com/staples-lockland-ergonomic-leather-managers-big-tall-chair-400-lb-capacity-black-58067/product_24328570
The rest is tracking code... no good.
fyi to everyone really.
Explained everything with the word 'google' =]oh I just googled the number it has on the back and linked what came up![]()
I haven't had any issues with the back support on this but I'm sure there are better out there. Better than my old one though. When I'm typing I'd say it supports up to a bit higher than halfway up my back but the high back part is reclined enough to not really support shoulders or neck.Explained everything with the word 'google' =]
That is their mo.
I never really thought about it though... getting my chair again but 'updated'.
Can't say this oldie has ergonomic support. I mean I have a pillow for lumbar support hah...
What really started me dreaming of a GPU priced chair was the rolling lumbar support handles... Mannnnnnnnnnn oh mannnnnnnnnn does my back kill me.... nothing chair related, but I am pretty sure a well designed chair would alleviate a lot of lower back pain/discomfort.
*and the gel / memory foam shoulder/wrist rests is tempting*
I told wifey... a new chair is 200 no matter what. So would I be kicking myself by not spending 300 on top of that for a 'supposedly' high-end quality chair(I don't know any actual real life person that has vouched for the thing)? Especially if I get another 15 years + out of it.
How is that chair on your lower back?
I can think of so much I can do with 500 dollars that doesnt involve buying a chair.... *like putting it into savings =P* but I mean... I dooo use it pretty often....
Stupid chair taking up way too much of my time.
That is basically what I have if I sit back, which I never do. Basically hunched over -- has to be murder on my back / spine.I haven't had any issues with the back support on this but I'm sure there are better out there. Better than my old one though. I tell you, you've been having close-calls since I can remember...Drivers in this city are so god damn horrible! Every day I ride my ebike from work home some jabroni tries to kill me. Today the advanced light changed and I started going and a cabbie speeds up as I was half way in the intersection and decided to stop and get beeped at, thought for sure he was not going to stop, he was a few inches from running his car right into me. Almost every damn day these Pejorative Slurs do this shit. Then not long after I am going up a hill in the bike lane and someone behind me BARELY misses me while driving in the bike lane.

A couple days ago some a hole female driver speeds up and forces me to slam on my brakes and I almost went over my handlebars. How are you so dumb? Need a go pro and an airhorn.
I tell you, you've been having close-calls since I can remember...
I absolutely agree with you, even around here people are doing hit and runs and getting picked up for them later quite often. When I ride the mountain bike I try to stay as far away from people in cars as is possible.... not always possible. But that bike lane always did seem like a dangerous gamble. 'here is the biker safety zone... a thin layer of paint protects you from a great many number of idiots out there.... nuh-uh... no way... side walk at least has a curb and that has risk =P
You need to mic and cam up your rig man!!!
