GDT: HFBoards Xenforo 2.3.4 update thread

Please keep any discussion / gripes / complaints here. The long and short of it is the HF template got sent to LTIR during the update to this version of XF (at least so far). Devs are working on restoring the old template and functionality.

One thing I noticed with the update is that the 'Toggle width' option at the bottom of the page is no longer available, so that everything's defaulted to squished in the middle, not spread out to the margins. I'm guessing that might return once the templates are restored?

Along the same lines as @notDkristich ... Don't know if this has always been available, but the debug information contains sensitive internals... DB queries, paths to the php, etc. Each page's debug output is accessible from the footer on the page.

Probably already noticed as a result of the style/template issues but unable to collapse the sticky section at the top.

Ignoring threads also seems to have disappeared and ignored threads are now back.

Maybe most importantly for me, it's hard to tell the difference between a read thread and an unread/bold one. Maybe read threads and the timestamps for them could be the same grey as the the other info for the thread.

I do enjoy the irony of the formatting being "on LTIR" but all the ads still working 100%

Because security through obscurity is not effective anyway.

This isn't to say Xenforo or that HFB's particular set-up are cybersecurity fortresses, but I don't think hiding the version number or playing coy about it during this upgrade is a particularly effective security method.

There's only one thing I want to know about this upgrade... will it stop HF from completely crashing when the Leafs bomb out of the playoffs in the first round again? Or, you know, like on draft day?

This is a collapsing thing if you're using a narrow view (like mobile).

Any particular theme issues like this I wouldn't worry about too much until we get to our new theme, this one is the stock xenforo theme and is termporary.

One annoyance of the new mobile view is that I have to scroll all the way down to the near bottom of the page in order to select another page. On the web view I can select another page both at the top and bottom.

This is a customization of mine on the old theme that is not implemented yet and won't be until we're on our real theme (If I can replicate it)

Is there an easy way to turn off dark mode. It’s fine during the day when white. It automatically changes at night but none of my other apps do. hate dark mode.

Under your profile, choose “preferences” and there’s some settings. Not sure if they actually work yet, but they exist. (I like dark mode so haven’t tried to change it.)

Can this link (highlighted in the screenshot above) be moved up to just below the posts in the current thread? I used this link on the old mobile site quite a bit but it's annoying to use now since it's below the "Members Online", "Latest Posts", and "Upcoming Events" sections.
