As I've been saying throughout the polls, Seider way too high. He was a reach at the draft, and being a reach doesn't raise your stock as a prospect. If it did, Hayton (who was ranked and drafted higher than Seider) would be much more regarded. If he was ranked as a consensus behind guys like Boldy, Krebs, Broberg, and even Newhook in many draft rankings, how is he a better prospect than them?

I'm not saying he's not a good prospect, but I do not see the logic behind him being above those guys.

Hayton was generally ranked 12th and picked 5th. Seider was roughly around 14 and picked 6th. Very little difference here, and Seider was ranked one spot lower than Hayton.

Think a lot of people are relying on Seider being underscouted playing in the DEL. We'll see.

was definitely too high based on the consensus pre-draft rankings, We looked at 14 sources to come up with EOTP’s Consensus NHL Draft Rankings

Didnt think the "homer voting" was too bad this year. Caufield went higher, but I personally think he shouldve been a top 10 pick int he draft without question. The guy will be an elite goalscorer if his "size" pans out.

Little surprised Farabee went as high as he did. Dach shouldnt be that high either imo. Deniseneko I havent seen play at all, so I have no clue.

Zadina, Veleno and Seider way too high. None of those guys are elite.

Someone’s got a bias.

But sure, the guy picked 6th overall and was at the time seen as the 3rd/4th best prospect in his draft definitely isn’t elite...

But let me guess, Sandin is definitely Elite?

I was only an intermittent participant in the voting, so I was wondering if the results for Farabee were before or after the WJSS where he looked so good? If after, it may have been a refresher in how good he looked. Similarly, does Poehling get a bump from his amazing debut?

(Nothing against either player, just trying to assess recency as a factor in voting.)

Pretty funny that there was no mention of Sandin and Hronek considering one hopes to be what the other is already proving himself to be, and yet Hronek got ranked lower.

Definitely didn’t expect the Red Wings to have 4 top 50 prospects, and I maintain Tyler Benson should be somewhere on this list. Otherwise pretty fair.

Honestly Hronek really shouldn't get consideration as a prospect.

The other three are definitely in the top 50, though.

Yeah, Zadnia and Seider (though I feel he's too high) for sure. Veleno is a coin flip for me but deserving of his spot. Hronek I would definitely have as graduated.

Broberg, Seider, York, and Soderstrom were close int he pre-draft rankings..... two made the top 50, two didnt

If Seider doesnt go so high, I guarantee you he probably doesnt make the top 50

Poehling was also the WJC MVP, dont forget. He definitely got homer votes, but I think hes top 50 regardless.

Habs got some homer votes, and I don't think I agree with Sandin or Zadina as high as they are. In general, though, seems like the right collection of players.

One guy I would have (a lot) higher is Robertson for Dallas. Stud!

you think so ?
then Brook and Romanov should have been in the top 50. first time I see a top 50 this summer without Romanov or Brook.

the hopes for Sandin are a legit first pairing dman, and Hronek hasn't proven that's what he is at all.

From the sound of it, if Detroit hadn't drafted Seider in the top 10, somebody else was going to.

.5 PPG in the NHL as a 20/21 year old while looking defensively sound. Yeah, Hronek has no hope of ever being a solid PMD.

Hmm, did you mean to say "they're hoping Sandin might become what Wings fans hope Hronek will become", because what you said was "they hope Sandin will become Hronek is already proving he is". You see, there is a difference, and suggesting that Sandin tops out what you think Hronek has already proven is ridiculous.

Only guys I definitively put in front of seider are kakko/hughes/byram in 2019 draft. I think a lot of people will be surprised by him once they get a large amounts of viewings.

And I agree with the poster above - funny hronek is below guys that hope to be what he has shown at the nhl level. He really shouldn't be in this poll.

No, I'm not a red wings fan.
