Yeah there is something to be said based on a posters comment to like ratio. I don’t think I have ever seen a 1/2 ratio with thousands of comments…prove me wrong hf…
I like the concept but think your all star to prodigy ratios are too high. Very few on this board have a 1/2 ratio. Those ratios need to be brought down.
I actually think, not a lot of posters have 1/1 ratio or better. I’d consider 1/1-1/1.25 all star. League average for me would be 1/.75

That’s harsh, I’m well below 1, but I do the right things and there’s dozens of team boards that would want me and a lot of other “1 and under posters” on their boards.

Your not well under 1/1, your just under. I’d consider you a top 6 forward to star forward. It’s not easy to get a 1/1 ratio.
Also, you joining in 2021 and you have 11k comments, makes your ratio more impressive. Because a lot of your posts likely are posts that don’t warrant a reaction because your posting in huge volume. I think you need to add in a posters join date into the equation. I would even say your 1/.9 ratio joining in 2021 is more impressive then my 1/1.15 ratio and my 2010 join date

And for those of us who posted before likes were a thing? I'm well over 1LPP since they were introduced, but kids on the internet these days would look at my numbers and think I'm one of those beer league goalies from the 80s who let in double digits each night.

Everyone knows Ceremony from Avs board is the real deal.
Thoughts: Just be a regular on the canes team board and post a meme after every match.
Gauging poster quality by likes is pretty silly. It's pretty easy to game the system to get high likes without contributing much at all.
Well you know it’s been a struggle recently but you know if I keep working hard you know and uh keep posting the right way and getting comments deep I think you know the likes will come

Doesnt really work with older users as likes never existed back then. Think I easily had 10-12k posts before likes were ever a thing.
Hopefully this post evens out your ratio a bit because this is great.
Just needs more uh's.

I definitely have to agree with this.
A lot of articulate, insightful and well-thought out posts seem to get no likes or just one to three whereas if you're the first to say something like, "feels good, man" in a Maple Leafs Post Game thread after a win, you're sure to get quite a few likes.
Witty comments in main boards threads tend to generate a lot of likes, and posters deserve credit for such remarks, but clever banter doesn't necessarily equate to deep hockey knowledge.
lol. I’m in the same boat. By far most of my posts were in the pre-like era. I’m surprised my ratio is so good!
I’m too old. Don’t post much anymore. Damn kids, taking up all my time. lol.
I like the concept/idea though - it’s super interesting.
Also, does a laughing face (once it arrived on the scene) because your post was so blindingly stupid count/how to remove them from the total (because they are considered a 'like'). An own goal as it were.

In all honesty, I don't think this is a good way to go at all. I get most of my 'likes' when saying something funny, or saying something good about Ovechkin in the goals chase thread.
If a poster were to bounce around to everyone's little team-based echo chamber threads and forums and post like a kiss ass, he would walk away with a huge post:like ratio.
If we go down this road its just going to lead to more groupthink than there already is, i think.
I typically hand out likes to people who have either made me laugh, or those stats geniuses in here who make unbiased, well thought out, mathematically involved posts that I learn from. That second group actually deserves recognition. The rest of us are mostly just bozos, some well-meaning, many others who have tribal agendas.
