It was crazy, and part of the fallout was that for a long time HF blanked "bodybuilding.com" as if you had said a bad word.

Post 95, well, somebody else can explain that one!

Here's how the "Olli Jokinen / Turkey Girl" thread worked

First, in March 2009, a user named Risiko (no longer on HFBoards) posted this picture in The Lounge. He said it was from a local newspaper (I think the original image was slightly different, but this is as close as I can find):

Then @StrangeVision posted this image of Olli Jokinen squaring off against Ryan Kesler. I'm not sure why he posted it in that thread, but there was no turning back:

A user named portal333 said "Someone needs to photoshop it so Jokinen is in place of the turkey. I would if I had the skeels, but I do not". Fortunately, @Joseppi did, in fact, have the requisite skeels, and we got this monstrosity:

A user named FutureFF posted the following image, saying "i like this more". Another person replied and (understandably) said that "Turkeyhead Jokinen is going to give me nightmares":

From there, people posted a bunch of progressively hilarious and weird images, often combining them with whatever memes were popular (yes, memes existed in 2009).

Regarding the last image (the Michael Phelps meme), someone said "This is the winner in a thread full of win".

The thread went on for close to 40 pages (and unfortunately a lot of great images were lost). I don't know, maybe you had to be there... but for me, this was the funniest thread I've ever seen, on HFBoards or elsewhere. (One user said "my stomach hurts from laughing, keep it up!!!", and that describes it perfectly for me).

Oh man, that thread was a thing of beauty. I just about pissed myself the first time I saw the michael phelps gif edit
