Ended up getting invited to trivia after my church service. The bar has the Penguins vs. Capitals game on. Not the Bolts game, but usually bars around here wouldn’t normally be showing hockey at all, so that’s an improvement I guess.

Because they needed a better record. I’m pretty sure this started because Ottawa not playing well against Carolina is the same as Habs not playing well against them.

I think this can all be solved by pointing out that Ottawa clinched early enough that they didn’t have to finish the season playing must-win games.

Habs had to play a must-win game against Carolina because they failed to win three potential clinchers in a row.
