  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Buffalo on their third game in four days on the road…head into Winnipeg down their top two centers…get completely run over in shots and chances…with their 2 wins on the season backup goalie playing…and they lead by two.

That’s so Buffalo.

Everyone concentrates on the losing…the make zero sense wins are just as funny

Of course they can still lose this if Winnipeg ever decides to beat *checks notes* James Reimer

Dahlin tripped Reimer and he couldn’t get up…made a glove save from his side.

Then a puck went off his teammate for a chance he managed to stop.

The Sabres are trying to lose it but Reimer has held strong lol

Jets pulling the goalie with 3 minutes left is interesting.

I seem to recall that the conventional wisdom was to pull the goalie with about 60 seconds left down by one, 2 minutes if down by 2, and to not bother if down by 3 or more unless it was a playoff game where you'll get eliminated if you lose. It was programmed that way in the first NHL game I played (NHL 2000) without fail, even if the AI-controlled team had a defensive zone faceoff.

Teams have been doing it earlier and earlier in games down by a goal. One of the stat-ish pod casts had some numbers on it that in my cold-med induced haze I can't remember. Same guys who talked about the slingshot being the top entry for NHL teams on the PP even though everyone hates it.
