Yes, I realize that and, like I said, I think they are a good team.

But. They are undefeated in their last 10 after being ~.500 in their first 20. Saying they are definitely the team that has the results of the last 10 isn't any more valid than saying they are the team of the first 20.

For an example look at the Panthers last year. The went on a ~10 game win streak but really weren't that good. It artificially inflated where they should have finished in the standings, they were upset by a decimated wildcard Isles team, and are struggling this year.

Don't bet your house on a 10 game sample size.

See, here's the thing: I don't think anyone is betting anything on a ten game sample size, a 30 game sample size, their position in the standings, their advanced metrics, or anything else.

They're just enjoying their team playing some good hockey. If anything, most CBJ fans are approaching it with cautious optimism and just enjoying the ride for once. why everyone thinks that's somehow betting on anything or assuming success is beyond me. It's a huge strawman.

11-5-4 isn't ".500"...that was good for around 4th or 5th in the Metro and a wild card spot. Still a playoff pace. Don't dismiss it.

11/20 is absolutely ~.500

~.500 being good for 4th or 5th of 8 means nothing. That's exactly where that record should be.

Go back to school and take some math classes. They're 21-5-4 right now. If you think that 11-5-4 is around .500 you have to be ashamed and hide in a bushes.

.550 isn't around .500? Maybe I should go back to school and learn this new math. The year after I graduated my school system did institute a new policy students couldn't fail due to poor grades anymore. I would call that a failure of society but I guess it has been embraced by some.

I agree that it's kind of close to .500. But losing only 5 in regulation is best in the league.

And still, it was a 107 pt pace, before a 10 game win streak.

Literally the second the morons on the Pens broadcast start the "Murray should/could win the Calder" he lets in three goals in a minute.
