I don’t think the Oilers played like shit. They doubled the Sharks in shots but Askarov stood on his head and the missed multiple tap ins with the net wide open.
The Oilers were clearly the better team after the first few minutes of the game.

Good enough to win that game but an overplay by Askarov and then Celebrini trying a cutesy move cost them. They’ll learn from it though

That thread is still open. What you should have been able to infer from that thread is that with the cap space they have and the players they have under NMC, they can’t fit or trade for someone like Ullmark.

They aren't clutch IMO. They have been acceptable
Oilers win *most* of the time inspite of their goalies
I can't even remember the last game EDM won that we didn't deserve b/c our goalie stole it high and dry lol.
I guess game 6 VS Dallas, but I don't remember Skinner having to make multiple 10 bell saves
I mean the Oilers definitely don't have the best tandem in the league but they pay them under 4M dollars and they are playing good right now. The Oilers are 10-2 in their last 12 games with very legitimate wins in that period (VGK, TB, COL, MIN). I just don't get people complaining after that game lol, we don't have a magic $ wand to throw at a goalie right now.
That's what happens when you allocate less than 5% of your cap to the position. The team is better than the G, no doubt.

Again, after the post finals hangover (the same tandem that got them there btw) our goalies have a top 8 SV% in the league in the last 25 games.
For a fan of Ottawa you'd think you'd know that guys go through ups and downs. See Ullmarks start of the year.

I think the team is good. I'm still not sold on the goaltending. We'll find out in April/May/June.

Yeah, celebrini wins the face off, gets the puck and tries to do it all himself then loses it. Mcdavid goes back the other way, game over. lol.
What team isn't trying to win a cup? I wouldn't mind a Pickard upgrade personally but I'm not entirely sure what's out there that would be worth it for the cost. Would rather spend on a top 4 RD.
Team has lost like 4 in a row with a third period lead. This feels normal.
